New Prairie United School Corporation operates five schools in Indiana.

Contents

The district, mostly in LaPorte County, includes the Hudson Lake and Rolling Prairie census-designated places, as well as a northeast portion of the City of LaPorte. The district includes almost all of Kankakee Township, and all of the townships of Galena, Hudson, and Wills. [1]

New Prairie High School's athletic director is Mr. Brian Williamson. New Prairie High School is a founding member of the Northern State Conference, which includes the schools of Bremen, Culver Community, Jimtown, John Glenn, Knox, Laville, Triton, and New Prairie.

Robotics team

New Prairie's FIRST Robotics Competition team, Las Pumas, completed their ninth season of competition in 2015. In Indiana's inaugural District Competitions, they claimed their first ever championship. They were chosen as the third member of the victorious alliance of team 234 CyberBlue and team 1024 Kil-A-Bytes, both from Indianapolis, at the Purdue District Event, held at the Co-Rec. Theater Company

New Prairie Theater Company has fall play and spring musical each year. In 2010–11, the theater presented Moon over Buffalo and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. In 2011–12, the theater presented Once Upon a Mattress and The Murder Room. In 2012–13, the theater presented Footloose and The Glass Menagerie. In 2013–14, the theater presented Les Miserables and The Matchmaker. In 2014–15, the theater presented Into the Woods and The Night of January 16th . In 2015-16, the theater presented Grease. In 2016-17 the theater presented "Camp Rock". In 2017-18 the theater presented "Annie". In 2018-19 the theater presented "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee." Mrs. Kortney Brennan and Mr. Bennett are the current[ when? ] directors. All current Alumni are currently fighting or have lost their fight with the lung diseases they caught due to the stage 3 asbestos that was and still is in the NPHS auditorium.

The New Prairie “Marching Cougars” are a competitive marching band that performs in many parades and competitions in the area, along with the home game halftime shows. They perform in summertime parades in Walkerton, Bremen, LaPorte, New Carlisle, and Michigan City. In 2010 and 2011, the marching band won first place in the LaPorte Fourth of July Parade. They were invited to march at the Indy 500, as well as Indiana and Purdue Universities. The Marching Cougars compete in many ISSMA competitive marching competitions from September–October. In 2014, the band competed in Scholastic Class A state finals, with their show "Twisted Wonderland", and in 2018, they went to Class B semi-state with their show "Breathe." The concert band season takes place during the winter and spring, and jazz band and pep band play at the home girls and boys basketball games. Many NPHS band students have been selected to perform in a variety of honor ensembles, including IBA All-District, Ball State Honor Festival, ISU Honor Festival, and IMEA All-State Honor Bands.

Other clubs include anime club, art club, color guard, dance team, academic decathlon, bowling, cheerleading, discussion club, environmental club, FBLA, French club, French honor society, Hoosier academic super bowl, Hoosier state spell bowl, HOSA, karate club, kazoo club, [5] key club, mock trial, model club, national honor society, pep club, PSA, quiz bowl, robotics, rocket club, RSVP, SADD, soccer, Spanish club, Spanish honor society, student senate, varsity letter club, and yearbook.

In December 2011, Prairie View Elementary and Rolling Prairie Elementary Schools of the New Prairie United School Corporation were recognized as 2010-2011 Four Star Schools by the Indiana Department of Education. Out of 1,780 Indiana public schools, 162 earned this distinction. Eleven of 238 non-public schools also received the honor this year. To be considered a Four Star School, a school's combined English/Language Arts and Math ISTEP+ passing percentages must fall into the top 25th percentile when compared to schools statewide. A school must also have made adequate yearly progress under the federal No Child Left Behind Act to qualify.

Benton Central Junior-Senior High School is the only high school in Benton County, Indiana, and is located five miles southeast of Fowler in Atkinson. The school mascot is the Bison. BC was a 1960s consolidation of Ambia, Boswell, Earl Park, Fowler, Freeland Park, Montmorenci, Pine Township, Oxford, Otterbein, and Wadena schools. The number of elementary schools sending students to Benton Central has declined steadily since then, and only two are left. The first graduating class (1969) selected by vote the mascot, colors, and school name.

Ernest Righetti High School is a public comprehensive secondary school in Santa Maria, California, United States, serving students in grades 9-12. The school is part of the Santa Maria Joint Union High School District. Righetti is a fully accredited, two-time California Distinguished School, awarded in 2002 and 2009. Righetti High School was built in the suburban community of Orcutt, California in 1963 to relieve overcrowding at Santa Maria High School, opening in January 1963 and graduating its first class in June 1964. The school was named for a local civic leader whose family has engaged in cattle ranching in the Santa Maria area for several generations. The school's boundaries encompass several elementary school districts that serve the communities of Orcutt, Guadalupe, Los Alamos, Sisquoc, Garey, and Casmalia, as well portions of the city of Santa Maria and rural northern Santa Barbara County.

National Trail High School is a public high school in New Paris, Ohio. It is the only high school in the National Trail Local School district. The district serves students from New Paris Ohio, Eldorado, Ohio, and West Manchester, Ohio, along with all of Jefferson Township, Monroe Township, and Jackson Township. Cross County Community School District is a consolidated school district in Polk County, Nebraska, United States. In 2002, the communities of Benedict and Stromsburg consolidated their school districts to form Cross County Public Schools. The school's team mascot is the Cougar. The current K-12 school building was built three miles south of Stromsburg and five miles north of Benedict, at the intersection of U.S. Route 81 and Nebraska Highway 66, being completed in late 2009. Del Valle High is a public high school located on the southeast side of El Paso, Texas. DV, as it is commonly called, is part of the Ysleta Independent School District, serving 2,000 students in grades 9 to 12. At the start of the 2022 academic year, Ivan Cedillo was appointed principal of Del Valle High School. The TEA association classifies Del Valle as a "recognized school" as of 2011.

North Providence High School is a public high school in North Providence, Rhode Island, United States that serves grades 9-12. It is part of the North Providence School District and its sports teams compete in the Rhode Island Interscholastic League. North Providence, whose school colors are blue and gold, is home to the Cougars. The high school graduated its first class in 1940. In 1992, part of the school burned down while school was still in session. Trailers were placed in the parking lot and used as classrooms while a new wing was built. The school grounds include a football and baseball field. Within the building there are three gymnasiums, a fitness and training room, and a wood shop. The school was formerly equipped with tunnel access to the town’s Natatorium Complex at the Salvatore Mancini. North Providence High employs 116 faculty and staff for the student body of approximately 1,300 students. North Providence High School holds the distinction of having the highest graduation rate in the state of Rhode Island with 98% of seniors graduating in 2016.

The Portage Community School District in Portage, Wisconsin, is a combination of seven elementary schools. The two centralized schools are Woodridge Elementary and John Muir Elementary. There are four outline schools, Fort Winnebago Elementary is located in Columbia County on the outer edge of Portage. Rusch Elementary is located in downtown Portage and is the second largest elementary school. Endeavor Elementary is located in Marquette County in the town of Endeavor. Lewiston Elementary is located in the outer land of Portage and is the smallest elementary school in the district.
