Education in the Netherlands is characterized by division: education is oriented toward the needs and background of the pupil. Education is divided over schools for different age groups, some of which are divided in streams for different educational levels. Schools are furthermore divided in public, special (religious), and general-special (neutral) schools, although there are also a few private schools. The Dutch grading scale runs from 1 to 10 (outstanding).
The Pennsylvania Department of Education is the executive department of the state charged with publicly funded preschool, K-12 and adult educational budgeting, management and guidelines. As the state education agency, its activities are directed by the governor appointed Pennsylvania's Secretary of Education. The agency is headquartered at 333 Market Street in Harrisburg. The Pennsylvania Department of Education oversees 500 public school districts of Pennsylvania, over 170 public charter schools (2019), Career and Technology Centers/Vocational Technical schools, 29 Intermediate Units, the education of youth in State Juvenile Correctional Institutions, and publicly funded preschools. In 2019, the Pennsylvania Department of Education employs approximately 500 persons.

West Somerset College is a fairly large secondary school in Minehead, Somerset, England. It provides education for pupils aged 13 to 16 in the main school and 16 to 18 in the sixth form. WSC has had Technology College status for several years, meaning the college receives additional funding. In June 2011, the school became an Academy. The school has a partnership with a secondary school (Gymnasium) in Bünde, Germany.
Mayflower High School, founded in 1965, and named after the Mayflower, is a coeducational, secondary school located in Billericay, Essex in the East of England in the United Kingdom. The school has a mixed intake of pupils aged 11–18 and is an academy. As of June 2006 the number of enrolled pupils was 1,418. Mayflower has specialisms in science and mathematics as well as languages.
The E-ACT Burnham Park Academy was a co-educational academy in Burnham, Buckinghamshire, England until it closed in 2019 due to falling pupil numbers. It. A small part of the campus is located in neighbouring Slough, Berkshire. The academy was sponsored by E-ACT, and had approximately 235 pupils.
TreeHouse School is a non-maintained special school and sixth form for children aged 4 to 19 that are diagnosed with autism. The school is located in the London Borough of Haringey, England, and is operated by the charity Ambitious about Autism. Children from 17 local authority areas attend the school.
Wadham School is a school for pupils aged 13–18 situated on a 20-acre (81,000 m2) site on the outskirts of Crewkerne in Somerset, England. The school has been rated Good by Ofsted since May 2014.
Turves Green Boys' School is a secondary school in the West Heath area of Birmingham, England. It is approximately 80 years old. The school is an all-boys school with Technology College and Humanities College status. It received Technology College status in 1995. Approximately one fifth of pupils are on the special needs register. The 2007 OFSTED inspection noted that a very small proportion of pupils were of ethnic minorities. In 1994, 5% of the pupils in the school were of an ethnic minority.
