Background
Originally, Newman Catholic was built as Central Catholic High School to serve several parishes in the North Iowa area. Newman Catholic High School was established in 1960 with the guidance of Rev. William Powers. Newman is one of two high schools in Mason City, the other being the public Mason City High School.
Newman Catholic High School is connected to Newman Catholic Middle School, Newman Catholic Elementary School, and Newman Catholic Daycare. This one building is a part of a campus with a track, football field, baseball diamond and softball diamond.

Athletics
Newman has a wide variety of athletic programs for students to participate in. These programs include football, volleyball, cross country, football cheerleading, competition cheer, girls’ basketball, boys’ basketball wrestling, dance team, basketball cheerleading, wrestling cheerleading, girls’ track, boys’ track, girls’ golf, boys’ golf, baseball, and softball, all of which compete as the Knights. Participation in sports such as tennis, swimming, hockey and soccer, which Newman does not offer, is available through cooperation with the Mason City Public High School. The Knights participate in the Top of Iowa Conference. [5]
North Scott High School is a suburban public four-year comprehensive high school located in Eldridge, Iowa. The school is part of the North Scott Community School District, and has an enrollment of approximately 1,000 students in grades 9 through 12.

Davenport West was built in 1960 and the current principal is Cory Williams.
The Highlands School is a private, PK–12 Catholic college preparatory school in Irving, Texas, United States. It was established in 1986, in the front room of a family's house in Highland Park, Dallas. The last twenty years, The Highlands School changed location twice. The school itself has seen many upgrades from the addition of a football field and lights to a gymnasium, weight room, and new technology in the classrooms. The Highlands School is fully accredited by the Texas Catholic Conference Education Department (TCCED) since 1999, and by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) since 2006. For the fourth consecutive year, the school has been named by the Acton Institute as one of the "Top 50 Catholic Schools" in the country. In 2012, it was also named a top 50 Catholic High School by the Cardinal Newman Society.
