Niagara Catholic High School was a private, Roman Catholic high school in Niagara Falls, New York within the Diocese of Buffalo. It was the only remaining Catholic high school in Niagara County until its closure in June 2018. It closed due to poor management and a disconnect with its alumni base. Examples include changing the school nickname from "Big Red" to the Patriots which alienated many alumni.
Niagara Catholic was established in 1975 in the traditions of the former St. Mary's, Bishop Duffy and Madonna High Schools. It was located at 520 66th Street in the city of Niagara Falls, New York.
In 1927 St. Mary's, a co-educational high school (not to be confused with the co-educational high school of the same name in nearby Lancaster), was established by the Rev. Cornelius F. Killeen, Pastor of St. Mary's Church, and staffed by the Sisters of Mercy, an international community of Roman Catholic women vowed to serve people who suffer from poverty, sickness and lack of education with a special concern for women and children. By the start of the school year in 1933, St. Mary's enjoyed it largest freshman enrollment to date. Its combination of a strict code of conduct, a well rounded curriculum and competitive athletic programs the school realized strong student enrollment throughout the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s. In 1959 the young women of St. Mary's moved to the newly constructed Madonna Catholic High School.

It is the third-oldest Catholic seminary in the United States and was established by Edward Fenwick, the first Bishop of Cincinnati, in 1829 along with The Athenaeum, which opened in 1831 in downtown Cincinnati.
Towson Catholic High School was a private Catholic, co-educational high school in the Baltimore suburb of Towson, Maryland, whose closing was announced in July 2009. At its peak enrollment in the 1960s and 1970s, more than 400 children attended. Founded in 1922 by a Catholic priest, Phillip Sheridan, it was the oldest co-educational Catholic high school in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Baltimore when it closed. During its 86 years, the small school was long noted for its successful athletics program as well as personalized secondary-level education.

Holy Family Academy was a private Roman Catholic college preparatory school for young women located in Bayonne, in Hudson County, New Jersey, founded by the Sisters of St. Joseph in 1925 that closed in June 2013. The most recent building, 239 Avenue A, was dedicated in 1954. The school operated under the supervision of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Newark. The school had been accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Elementary and Secondary Schools since 1965.

The Benedictine Sisters of St. Walburg Monastery is a Roman Catholic congregation of women. whose motherhouse, St. Walburg Monastery, is located at Villa Madonna, in Villa Hills, Kentucky. It was founded in 1859 by three sisters of the Benedictine congregation of Mount St. Benedict Monastery in Erie, Pennsylvania, who came to Covington to teach the German-speaking children of St. Joseph's parish. They became an independent congregation in 1867. Villa Madonna Academy, a private, Roman Catholic K-12 school is part of the sisters' ministry in Kentucky. Besides operating the Academy, the sisters taught in parish schools and staffed St. John's Orphanage.
