Vanderbilt University is a private research university in Nashville,Tennessee. Founded in 1873,it was named in honor of shipping and rail magnate Cornelius Vanderbilt,who provided the school its initial $1-million endowment in the hopes that his gift and the greater work of the university would help to heal the sectional wounds inflicted by the Civil War. Vanderbilt is a founding member of the Southeastern Conference and has been the conference's only private school since 1966.

Time rated Gee one of the top 10 college presidents in the United States for 2010.

Mark A. Nordenberg is the chancellor emeritus of the University of Pittsburgh and chair of the university's Institute of Politics. A professor of law and university administrator,Nordenberg served as the seventeenth Chancellor of the University of Pittsburgh from 1996 to 2014. Nordenberg served as the Dean of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law between 1985 and 1993 and other various administrative positions before becoming interim Chancellor of the University of Pittsburgh in 1995,a position which became permanent the following year. He became known as Nordy to many Pitt students,who voted to name a recreation center and arcade in the William Pitt Union as Nordy's Place,and is also the namesake of the university's endowed Nordenberg Scholarships and the Nordenberg Hall dormitory on the university's campus.
James H. Ammons is an American educator,who is the Chancellor of Southern University at New Orleans. He served as president of Florida A&M University (FAMU) from July 2,2007,until his resignation took effect on July 16,2012. He is a native Floridian who grew up in the heart of Florida's citrus belt. He graduated from Winter Haven High School in 1970 and entered Florida A&M University on the Thirteen College Curriculum Program during the fall semester of 1970. Ammons was appointed Chancellor at Southern University in New Orleans January 8,2021.

Bennett Harvie Branscomb was an American theologian and academic administrator. He served as the fourth chancellor of Vanderbilt University,a private university in Nashville,Tennessee,from 1946 to 1963. Prior to his appointment at Vanderbilt,he was the director of the Duke University Libraries and dean of the Duke Divinity School. Additionally,he served as a professor of Christian theology at Southern Methodist University. He was the author of several books about New Testament theology.
Steve C. Currall is an American psychological scientist and academic administrator,and served as the seventh president of the University of South Florida. He previously served as provost and vice president for academic affairs at Southern Methodist University from January 1,2016. From 2009 to 2014,Currall served as Dean of the UC Davis Graduate School of Management. He has also held leadership roles at University College London and Rice University. On March 22,2019,Currall was named to succeed Judy Genshaft as president of the University of South Florida,and took office July 1,2019. He announced his resignation due to health and family reasons on July 19,2021.
The National Security Higher Education Advisory Board (NSHEAB) was created by Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director Robert S. Mueller III on December 15,2005. Operated by the FBI and paneled by approximately 20 American university presidents and chancellors,the expressed purpose of the board is "to foster outreach and to promote understanding between higher education and the Federal Bureau of Investigation." The board also facilitates communication between universities and federal authorities on "national priorities pertaining to terrorism,counterintelligence,and homeland security."

Most recently,Skinner was the Crown Family Professor of Molecular Engineering,professor of chemistry,director of the Water Research Initiative and deputy dean for faculty affairs of the Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering at the University of Chicago. Skinner is recognized for his contributions to the fields of theoretical chemistry,nonequilibrium statistical mechanics,linear and nonlinear spectroscopy of liquids,amorphous and crystalline solids,surfaces,proteins,and supercritical fluids. Skinner is the co-author of over 230 peer-reviewed research articles.
