Nicholas Trainor (born 29 June 1975) is a former English cricketer. He played for Gloucestershire between 1996 and 1998. [1]
Maria Feodorovna,known before her marriage as Princess Dagmar of Denmark,was a Danish princess who became Empress of Russia as spouse of Emperor Alexander III. She was the second daughter and fourth child of King Christian IX of Denmark and of Louise of Hesse-Kassel;her siblings included Queen Alexandra of the United Kingdom,King Frederick VIII of Denmark and King George I of Greece. Her eldest son became the last Russian monarch,Emperor Nicholas II of Russia –she lived for ten years after Bolshevik functionaries killed him and his immediate family in 1918.
Nicholas I reigned as Emperor of Russia,King of Poland and Grand Duke of Finland from 1825 until 1855. He was the third son of Paul I and younger brother of his predecessor,Alexander I. Nicholas inherited his brother's throne despite the failed Decembrist revolt against him. He is mainly remembered in history as a reactionary whose controversial reign was marked by geographical expansion,economic growth and massive industrialisation on the one hand,and centralisation of administrative policies and repression of dissent on the other. Nicholas had a happy marriage that produced a large family;all of their seven children survived childhood.
Alexandra Feodorovna was the empress consort of Emperor Nicholas II from their marriage on 26 November [O.S. 14 November] 1894 until his forced abdication on 15 March [O.S. 2 March] 1917. As such,she was also the last empress consort of Russia. Originally Princess Alix of Hesse and by Rhine at birth,she was given the name and patronymic Alexandra Feodorovna when she converted and was received into the Russian Orthodox Church. She and her immediate family were all killed while in Bolshevik captivity in 1918,during the Russian Revolution. In 2000 the Russian Orthodox Church canonized her as Saint Alexandra the Passion Bearer.

Sir Nicholas George Winton was a British banker and humanitarian who established an organisation to rescue children at risk from Czechoslovakia. Born to German-Jewish parents who had emigrated to Britain at the beginning of the 20th century,Winton supervised the rescue of 669 children,most of them Jewish,from Czechoslovakia on the eve of World War II. Winton found homes for the children and arranged for their safe passage to Britain. This operation was later known as the Czech Kindertransport.

Nicholas II or Nikolai II Alexandrovich Romanov,known in the Russian Orthodox Church as Saint Nicholas the Passion-Bearer,was the last Emperor of Russia,King of Congress Poland and Grand Duke of Finland,ruling from 1 November 1894 until his abdication on 15 March 1917. During his reign,Nicholas gave support to the economic and political reforms promoted by his prime ministers,Sergei Witte and Pyotr Stolypin. He advocated modernization based on foreign loans and close ties with France,but resisted giving the new parliament major roles. Ultimately,progress was undermined by Nicholas's commitment to autocratic rule,strong aristocratic opposition and defeats sustained by the Russian military in the Russo-Japanese War and World War I. By March 1917,public support for Nicholas had collapsed and he was forced to abdicate the throne,thereby ending the Romanov dynasty's 304-year rule of Russia (1613–1917).
