Nicholas Bevan Ephgrave QPM is a senior British police officer. He is the Director of the Serious Fraud Office. [1] He was previously Assistant Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Service. He was senior investigating officer on the re-investigation of Damilola Taylor's murder.
Ephgrave was born in Surrey,England. His first career was as a physicist in the National Health Service (NHS). [2]
He first became an officer in the Metropolitan Police Service,rising to Commander of Lambeth Borough before becoming Chief Constable of Surrey Police (2016-2018). [3] He then returned to the Metropolitan Police as Assistant Commissioner for Met Operations. [4] [5] In June 2016 he received the Queen's Police Medal. He also headed the National Police Chiefs' Council's Coordination Committee on Criminal Justice [6] and was due to leave the Metropolitan Police to take up a new temporary post with the Council later in 2022. [7]

Assistant Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis,usually just Assistant Commissioner (AC),is the third highest rank in London's Metropolitan Police,ranking below Deputy Commissioner and above Deputy Assistant Commissioner. Patricia Ferguson Gallan QPM is a former British police officer who served as Assistant Commissioner Specialist Crime and Operations of the Metropolitan Police in London. She previously served as Deputy Assistant Commissioner from 2012 to 2015,Assistant Chief Constable of Merseyside Police from February 2006 to 2012,and also served as temporary Deputy Chief Constable of the force from October 2009 to February 2010. She was the most senior female ethnic minority police officer in British history. She retired from the police service in August 2018.

Simon Byrne,is a senior English police officer. He served as Chief Constable of the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) from July 2019 until he resigned in September 2023. He was the Deputy Chief Constable of Greater Manchester Police from 2009 to 2011 and the Assistant Commissioner for Territorial Policing in the Metropolitan Police Service from 2011 to 2014. He then served as Chief Constable of Cheshire Constabulary from 2014 to 2017.
