Podehl graduated from Grand Valley State University, where he studied Communications and Theatre. [2] While at Grand Valley State University, he performed in multiple theatre productions. [3]

He presently lives near Grand Rapids, Michigan with his wife and two daughters. [4] [2]

The Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA), established in 1957, is a division of the American Library Association. YALSA is a national association of librarians, library workers and advocates whose mission is to expand the capacity of libraries to better serve teens.
