Nick Winston is an English director and choreographer working in theatre, opera and film.

Life and career

Winston directed Bonnie & Clyde in Concert at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, starring Jeremy Jordan, followed by Bonnie & Clyde at The Arts Theatre in 2022 and a subsequent production at the Garrick Theatre in 2023. [1] [2] His second collaboration with composer Frank Wildhorn was Death Note , which had a concert premiere at the London Palladium in September 2023, [3] followed by a run at the Lyric Theatre. [4]

Winston's work as choreographer includes Pippin at the Charing Cross Theatre (2021), [8] Annie at the Piccadilly Theatre (2017); [9] the original West End production of Loserville (2012) in West Yorkshire Playhouse, Leeds, [10] and then at the Garrick, [11] which received an Olivier Award nomination for Best New Musical; [12] Druids’ production of Waiting for Godot, which toured America and played a season at the Lincoln Center in New York; Kiss Me Kate at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris[ when? ] and Jonathan Dove's The Adventures of Pinocchio for Opera North at Grand Theatre, Leeds (2010) and other opera companies. Winston directed a 2022 film adaptation of his own musical, Tomorrow Morning (Amazon). [14] He directed The Royal Variety Show in the presence of HRH The Prince of Wales, hosted by Miranda Hart for ITV in 2017. His other work on screen includes Miranda: My Such Fun Celebration (BBC, 2019); Sondheim at 80 starring Dame Judi Dench (BBC),[ when? ]Shakespeare Live: From the RSC (BBC)[ when? ] and The Diplomat (Netflix).[ when? ][ citation needed ]

Winston is directing the original production of Burlesque the Musical , based on the 2010 film, set to open at Manchester Opera House in June 2024. [15]

Winston lives in Northampton with his two children Sophie & Luke Winston.

James Byng is an English actor and vocalist. Acting since the age of ten, James made his West End debut in the title role of Oliver! at the London Palladium. He played the same role in the national tour of Oliver! and at the Royal Charity Gala Hey! Mr. Producer, honoring theatrical producer Cameron Mackintosh at the Lyceum Theatre on 8 June 1998. Byng also played Gavroche in Les Misérables at the Palace Theatre. From 2007 to 2008 he was seen on stage at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, first playing various ensemble roles and then taking over the part of Frodo Baggins in Matthew Warchus' theatrical adaption of The Lord of the Rings. In 2008-09 Byng appeared in the role of John Darling in the musical Peter Pan at the West Yorkshire Playhouse in Leeds. <i>Bonnie & Clyde</i> (musical) 2009 musical

Bonnie & Clyde is a musical with music by Frank Wildhorn, lyrics by Don Black and a book by Ivan Menchell. The world premiere took place in San Diego, California in November 2009. The musical centers on Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow, the ill-fated lovers and outlaws whose story has been infamous since they achieved folk hero status during the Great Depression. Wildhorn described the music as a "non-traditional score, combining rockabilly, blues and gospel music". The San Diego run was followed by a Sarasota, Florida, engagement in 2010.

Ashley Lloyd is a British actor and dancer, who has performed in hit musical theatre shows such as Billy Elliot the Musical and Whistle Down the Wind. In 2012 Lloyd appeared in the new musical Loserville at the Garrick Theatre in London. Lloyd appeared in the Original London Cast of Dreamgirls at The Savoy Theatre and is now appearing in Saturday Night Fever at The Peacock Theatre in London. Fans of Hollyoaks might recognise Lloyd from the hit TV show playing Troy.

Alberto received rave reviews for her role as Eva Perón in Evita in the West End (2014), where the show arrived after its UK Tour.
