Biography

Sallach grew up as the eldest of three brothers. He is a trained elderly nurse and completed a further training to become a specialist for out-of-hospital ventilation. During his medical career he worked for years in this area with MS and ALS patients. [1]

Sallach began his singing career in a school band. [1] In 2009 he was the frontman of the five-piece Essen band Through Your Veins. [2] In 2012 he founded the band To the Rats and Wolves together with Dixi Wu, Danny Güldener, Marc Dobruk, Stanislaw Czywil and Simon Yildirim. While Wu denied the Guttural Chant, Sallach appeared as a clear voice. The band released three studio albums and one EP before disbanding in 2020 after eight years.

With a cover of Prism, Sallach applied via YouTube-casting for the position as singer of the band Eskimo Callboy. At the beginning of June 2020 he officially succeeded Sebastian Biesler as lead singer of the Castrop-Rauxel formation. [3] Sallach made his first musical contribution the single Hypa Hypa , which became an viral success together with the video. A first EP with the new singer was released in the same year. In 2021, he co-hosted the podcast Ober Kante Unterlippe with his co-singer Kevin Ratajczak, which was broadcast on Rock Antenne's nighttime program. [4] After the band with the singles We Got the Moves and Pump It managed to conquer new markets, the band renamed itself Electric Callboy in 2022. The first studio album with Sallach, Tekkno, was released a little later and was number one in the German Album Charts for a week. In 2023, he was a guest vocalist on the single Pizza Homicide by Samurai Pizza Cats, the second band of Electric Callboy guitarist Daniel "Danskimo" Haniß. [5]

Sallach often spends his free time playing computer games. His favorite game is The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time . [1]

In July 2023, Sallach appeared in episode 300 of the television show Game Two and guest-sang in the musical presented there.

Musical style

Sallach sings the clean vocals for Electric Callboy, as he did with To the Rats and Wolves. He sings most of the band's hooklines and refrains. Since joining Electric Callboy, he has increasingly incorporated other musical influences such as pop and EDM. He writes most of the lyrics together with his unclean co-singer and lyricist Kevin Ratajczak. [1] [6] He names Chester Bennington, Brandon Boyd, Dave Grohl, and Jacoby Shaddix as influencers. [7]
