Nigeria competed at the inaugural African Beach Games in Sal, Cape Verde from 14 to 23 June 2019. In total, athletes representing Nigeria won one gold medal, two silver medals and four bronze medals. [1] The country finished in 7th place in the medal table. [1]

Mary Onyali-Omagbemi is a Nigerian former sprinter, she was a 5x Olympian 1988 - 2004. She had won the bronze medal in the 4 × 100 m relay at the 1992 Olympic Games and in the 200 m at the 1996 Olympic Games. She also won the 1994 Commonwealth Games 100 metres title.

She is a three-time African senior champion in the long Jump and holds a personal best of 7.17 m She is the African junior record holder in the event and also a five-time African junior champion in athletics. In 2021, her younger brother Godson Okeoghene Brume broke the African u-18 100 meter record with 10.13 s.
Patience Okon George is a Nigerian sprinter. She competed in the 400 metres event at the 2015 World Championships in Athletics in Beijing, China and also at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. George is a two-time African Championships bronze medallist in the individual 400 metres event. She is also a three-time Nigerian national champion in the 400 metres.
Nigeria participated at the 2015 All-Africa Games held in Brazzaville, Republic of the Congo. It participated with 573 athletes in 21 sports. Nigeria finished 2nd in the 2015 All-Africa Games medal table.

Nigeria competed at the 2019 African Games held from 19 to 31 August 2019 in Rabat, Morocco. In total, 308 athletes represented Nigeria at the games. Athletes representing Nigeria won 46 gold medals, 33 silver medals and 48 bronze medals and the country finished 2nd in the medal table.
Egypt competed at the 2019 African Games held from 19 to 31 August 2019 in Rabat, Morocco. In total 297 athletes were expected to represent Egypt at the games. This later increased to 330 athletes. Athletes representing the country won 102 gold medals, 98 silver medals and 73 bronze medals and the country finished 1st in the medal table.
Volleyball and beach volleyball at the 2019 African Games were held from 16 to 31 August 2019 in Salé, Morocco.
Nigeria competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Originally scheduled to take place from 24 July to 9 August 2020, the Games were postponed to 23 July to 8 August 2021, because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Since the nation made its debut in 1952, Nigerian athletes have appeared in every edition of the Summer Olympic Games, with the exception of the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal because of the African boycott.

Esther Tamaraebi Toko is a Nigerian rower. She won bronze and silver medals at the 2019 African Beach Games and she also qualified to row single sculls at the 2020 Summer Olympics.
