Nigeria competed at the inaugural World Beach Games in Doha, Qatar from 12 to 16 October 2019. In total, athletes representing Nigeria originally won one gold medal and one silver medal. [1] In February 2021 however, silver medallist Mercy Genesis was found guilty of doping offences committed at the Games. She was stripped of her medal. [2] [3]

Chijindu "CJ" Ujah is a British athlete, specializing as a sprinter. The lead-off runner of the Great Britain 4 × 100 metres relay team that won both the World title in 2017 and the European title in 2016 and 2018, he also won the title in the 100 metres at the 2017 Diamond League final. On 18 February 2022 it was announced that Ujah and his teammates Zharnel Hughes, Nethaneel Mitchell-Blake and Richard Kilty would be stripped of their 4 × 100 metres relay 2020 Summer Olympics silver medals after Court of Arbitration for Sport found Ujah guilty of a doping violation.

Miesinnei Mercy Genesis is a Nigerian freestyle wrestler. She won the gold medal in the women's 50 kg event at the 2022 Commonwealth Games held in Birmingham, England. At the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, she competed in the Women’s freestyle -48 kg.

The 2019 World Beach Games, officially known as the ANOC World Beach Games Qatar 2019 and commonly known as Qatar 2019, was an inaugural international beach multi-sport event organized by the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC). It was held for five days, 11 to 16 October 2019, in Doha, Qatar, with the opening rounds for certain events being held on 11 October 2019, the day before the opening ceremony on 12 October.

The ANOC World Beach Games, known simply as the World Beach Games, is an international multi-sport event organized by the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC). The games are held biennially in odd-numbered years, with a focus on non-Olympic beach and water sports and a primary target audience of 15 to 35 year olds. It was first held in 2019 in Doha, Qatar.

The 2023 World Beach Games, officially known as the 2023 ANOC World Beach Games and colloquially as Bali 2023, will be the second edition of the World Beach Games, an international beach multi-sport event organized by the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC). Originally scheduled for 2021, it was postponed until 2023 due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Damián Hugo Quintero Capdevila is a Spanish karateka. He won the silver medal in the men's kata event at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. He is also a three-time silver medalist in the individual kata event at the World Championships, a six-time gold medalist in his event at the European Championships and a two-time gold medalist in this event at the European Games.
