Nilo P. Demerey Jr. is the current Governor of the Province of Dinagat Islands in the island of Mindanao,Philippines. [1]
He is the fourth chief executive of the Province since its creation on 2 December 2006,and the first male to be elected to the position. [2] He served as Vice Governor (2019) of the Province and a senior member of the Provincial Board before winning the gubernatorial seat in the May 2022 local and national elections. [3]

The province was formerly under the jurisdiction of Region 10 until 1995. Its capital is Surigao City. Upon the senior Ecleo's death in 1987,he was succeeded by his son Ruben B. Ecleo Jr.,who died in prison on May 13,2021,after being convicted of killing his wife in 2002.

Dinagat Islands's at-large congressional district is the sole congressional district of the Philippines in the province of Dinagat Islands. All provinces will elect their provincial governors for three-year terms,who will be inaugurated on June 30,2022 after their proclamation.
