Nina Hagen is a German singer, songwriter and actress. She made her acting debut on the German television series ABC der Liebe in 1974. Subsequently, she appeared in a number of films produced in former East Germany, such as Heiraten weiblich (1975), Heute ist Freitag (1975), Liebesfallen (1976), and Unser stiller Mann (1976). In those film she often appeared alongside her mother and actress Eva-Maria Hagen.

Following her 1976 expatriation from East Germany, Hagen moved to Hamburg when she was invited by independent filmmaker and photographer Juliana Grigorova to travel to London and appear in her short film The Go-Blue Girl (1978). She followed with the role in the Dutch film Cha Cha (1979), in which she appeared alongside Herman Brood and Lene Lovich.

Nina Hagen Band is the debut studio album by Nina Hagen Band. It was released in late 1978 by CBS Records. If first entered the Official Albums Chart in Germany on 20 November 1978. It was the first release by German singer Nina Hagen after her 1976 expatriation from East Germany. When she arrived in Hamburg, her stepfather and singer-songwriter Wolf Biermann got her in touch with CBS. Hagen traveled to London where she was introduced to music genres such as punk and reggae, and befriended other artists including Ari Up of the band The Slits. After she returned to Germany, she met with musicians Herwig Mitteregger, Bernhard Potschka and Manfred Praeker. Joined by Reinhold Heil, they formed the Nina Hagen Band and in November 1977 signed a record deal with CBS. Nina Hagen Band was produced by the band with additional production by Tom Müller and Ralf Nowy. Most of the songs had been already written by Hagen in East Germany.

<i>Gutterdämmerung</i> 2016 American film

Gutterdämmerung is a 2016 rock music film directed by Björn Tagemose, promoted as being “the loudest silent movie ever". The film features a score provided by a live rock band. The film stars Iggy Pop, Grace Jones, Henry Rollins, Lemmy, Nina Hagen, Tom Araya, Slash, Jesse Hughes, and Josh Homme and Justice. The film is shot in black and white in the tradition of classic silent film of 1920's Hollywood, however, instead of having backing piano music, a live rock group hammers out the accompanying soundtrack, whilst special effects from the film explode to life all around the audience. The film's plot has a religious setting and is focused around "The Devil's Evil Guitar" which has been removed from the world by the supreme being, in a newly puritanical world where rock and roll is relegated to history. Grace Jones plays "the devil", governing the testosterone of the evil rock'n'roll masses. Henry Rollins stars as the puritanical Priest Svengali, A punk rock angel named Vicious is sent to Earth to test humanity and to set the world on fire.
