Nisha Rani Dutta started archery at the age of 13. She joined Tata Archery Academy in 2005 and remained there till 2008. She used to earn a monthly stipend of 500 - 600 Rupees there. [2]
In 2007 she won silver in team (senior) event at Asian Championship, Taiwan. In 2008 Nisha won a bronze in team (senior) event at Asian Grand Prix, Bangkok. The same year at South Asian Archery Championship, Jamshedpur she won a silver in individual event. [1]
She went to Bengaluru in 2008 to Mittal Champions Trust and stayed there for a year on contract basis. [2]
In September 2010 Nisha attended the selection trials of South East Central Railway held at Bilaspur, Madhya Pradesh. [1]
After her two sisters got married, she had to take responsibility of her aged parents and could not give archery the required time. [1]
Born to a poor family, Nisha Rani Dutta is the daughter of a farmer. Her father didn't have much land and faced difficulty even to buy seeds for farming. [2] In 2012 Dutta sold her silver bow (which she received as a gift from her Korean coach at Mittal Champions Trust) in order to repair her families mud house. [1] [3]

She has won individual gold in two of the three stages of the World Cup--one in Guatemala and another in Paris. In the process she also reclaimed the number one ranking after nine years in Paris World Cup. Deepika Kumari won individual gold medals at the Archery World Cup Stage 1. Deepika Kumari also defeated Mexico by 5–1 in the final to win gold in Paris.
Danielle Brown MBE is a British competitive archer and award winning children's author. She has competed in the Paralympic Games winning gold medals in Beijing and London and has also won medals shooting in the able bodied category including the Commonwealth Games.
The women's individual archery event at the 2012 Olympic Games was held from 27 July to 2 August 2012 at Lord's Cricket Ground in London in the United Kingdom. The event was one of four which comprised the 2012 Olympic archery programme of sports and was the eleventh time the women's individual competition was contested as an Olympic event. Forty different nations qualified for the competition, sending a total of sixty-four archers to compete. The defending Olympic champion from 2008 was Zhang Juanjuan of China, who did not compete following her retirement in 2010.

She was a coach for the Indian national team at the 2008 Summer Olympics and was selected to coach the team at the 2012 Summer Olympics. She was awarded Dronacharya award from President of India for 2013 on 29 August 2013.

Ankita Bhakat is an Indian recurve archer who is currently ranked world number 20 by the World Archery Federation. She is a member of the Indian national recurve team and competes in international events in the women's individual, women's team and the mixed team recurve categories. She competed in the 2017 World Archery Youth Championships held at Rosario, Argentina and won the gold medal in the recurve junior mixed team event with partner Jemson Singh Ningthoujam.
The girls' individual archery event at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics was held from 12 to 16 October 2018 at the Parque Sarmiento in Buenos Aires, Argentina. One of three recurve archery events which comprised the archery programme, it was the third time the girls' individual discipline had been contested at Summer Youth Olympics. Thirty-two archers from thirty-two countries entered the competition, which was open to female archers born between 1 January 2001 and 31 December 2003. The defending champion was China's Li Jiaman, who was unable to defend her title due to the age limitations imposed on the event.
