Nishat Jubaida FCPS, DCP is a Major general and is currently the highest-ranking female officer of the Bangladesh Army. [1] Currently serving as Commandant of Armed Forces Institute of Pathology. She was promoted to the rank of major general on 16 February 2023 as the second female Major general in the Bangladesh Army after Major General Susane Giti. [2]

Career

General Jubaida is an expert on Medical Microbiology, Transplant Immunology & Immunogenetics. [3] Before promoted to the current rank, Brigadier General Jubaida was the head of Microbiology department of Army Medical College Chittagong. [4] She is the incumbent Commandant of Armed Forces Institute of Pathology (AFIP).

The Armed Forces Institute of Pathology is a medical research laboratory of the Bangladesh Armed Forces. It is their premier diagnostic institution. It is situated in Dhaka Cantonment. Major General Nishat Jubaida is the current commandant and Brigadier General Abdullah-Al-Baki is the current deputy commandant of this institution.

Chittagong Cantonment is situated near Bayezid Bostami of Chattogram, Bangladesh. It is the headquarters of 24th Infantry Division.

He was general officer commanding, Army Training and Doctrine Command, Mymensingh Cantonment. Prior to join ARTDOC, he was GOC of 24 Infantry Division and area commander of Chattogram area. Earlier, he was adjutant general of the Bangladesh Army. He was also the vice chairman of Trust Bank's board of directors. He served as General Officer Commanding (GOC) of 55 Infantry Division & Area Commander of Jessore Area. He also served as the director of Counter-Terrorism Intelligence Bureau (CTIB) of Directorate General of Forces Intelligence. He served as commander of 46th Independent Infantry Brigade. Susane Giti SUP, FCPS is a retired major general of Bangladesh Army. She is the first woman to be promoted to 2 star General. She served as the Commandant of Armed Forces Institute of Pathology. She was promoted to the rank of major general on 30 September 2018 as the first female major general in the Bangladesh Army.
