A municipality is usually a single administrative division having corporate status and powers of self-government or jurisdiction as granted by national and regional laws to which it is subordinate. It is to be distinguished (usually) from the county, which may encompass rural territory or numerous small communities such as towns, villages and hamlets.

The seat of the municipality is the town Selenicë. The total population is 18,476, in a total area of 561.24 km2. The population of the former municipality at the 2011 census was 2,235. The town is well known for its bitumen mines. The football (soccer) club is KS Selenicë. In the 2011 Albanian census, Selenica was the only commune where the number of declared Aromanians outnumbered the number of declared ethnic Albanians.
Fort McKay or Fort MacKay is a community in northeast Alberta, Canada that is located at the confluence of the Athabasca and MacKay rivers. It is approximately 54 km (34 mi) north of Fort McMurray via Highway 63 and Fort McKay Road. The community has an elevation of 260 m (850 ft).

Gauradaha is a municipality in Jhapa District in the Mechi Zone of eastern Nepal. After the government announcement the municipality was established on 19 September 2015 by merging the existing Maharanijhoda, Baigundhura, Juropani, Kohabara and Gauradaha village development committees (VDCs). The center of the municipality is establish in the mid of Gauradaha, Dhobiniya chowk. At the time of the 2011 Nepal census after merging the four VDCs population it had a total population of 47,393 persons. After the government decision the number of municipalities has reached 217 in Nepal.
