Nizar bin Obaid Madani (born 1941) was the state minister for foreign affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. [1] [2]
Madani was born in Madinah in 1941. [3] [4] He obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and political science from Cairo University in 1964. [3] He earned a master's degree in international relations at American University,Washington,D.C. in 1971. [3] He received a PhD in international relations from the same university in 1977. [3] His thesis is entitled The Islamic Content of the Foreign Policy of Saudi Arabia. King Faisal's Call for Islamic Solidarity 1965-1975. [5]
Madani joined the ministry of foreign affairs as an attachéin 1965 where he then proceeded to the Saudi embassy in Washington in 1968,eventually taking the position of Chargéd'affaires. [6] In 1967,he was appointed director of media affairs. Then he was posted to take charge of international affairs in 1978,and then progressed to become assist manager,office of minister of foreign affairs in 1984. He also participated in several international conferences at the United Nations and in the Arab League. He was appointed in 1993 as a member of the Consultative Council in its first session,and he was then reappointed in 1997. [7] Later,he became assistant foreign minister. [8] He was appointed minister of state for foreign affairs on 29 August 2005. [8]

Currently,the Crown Prince assumes power with the approval of the Allegiance Council after he is nominated by the King. This system was introduced to the country during the reign of King Abdullah. Faisal bin Turki I Al Saud (1920–1968) was a Saudi royal and politician. He was the only son of Prince Turki I and the eldest grandson of King Abdulaziz. He served as minister of interior during the reign of King Saud,his uncle and step-father,and was the country's first minister of labour and social affairs. Although he was very close to King Saud,Prince Faisal was one of the Saudi royals who signed the document that asked Saud to abdicate in 1964.
Sheikh Ibrahim bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al Suwaiyel was a Saudi Arabian statesman,diplomat,and military officer who served as the Saudi Arabian minister of foreign affairs from 1960 to 1962. Appointed on 22 December 1960 by King Saud,he succeeded the future king Faisal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and was succeeded by him again on 16 March 1961. He was noted for being the first non-royal to hold the position of foreign minister. He also served as the Saudi Arabian ambassador to both the United States and Iraq,as the minister of agriculture,and later as a member of the Council of Ministers and an advisor to the Royal Court.

Anwar Ali was a Pakistani economist who was the third governor of the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency. He headed the agency from 1958 to his death in 1974. Ali also held several positions at the ministry of finance in India and Pakistan and at the International Monetary Fund.
