The Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) is the aviation branch of the Saudi Arabian Armed Forces.
King Abdulaziz Air Base, also known as Dhahran Air Base and formerly Dhahran International Airport, Dhahran Airport and Dhahran Airfield, is a Royal Saudi Air Force base located in Dhahran in the Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia. Located west of Thuqbah and 7 km (4 mi) southeast of the Saudi Aramco Dhahran Camp, the airbase was the first Saudi Arabian airport to be constructed, in 1961, and is under the command of Air vice-marshal Prince Turki bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

Formerly it was an exclusively military airport until its renovation to become a public airport in 2011. Despite being an international airport, it only serves a few foreign destinations. There are plans to increase the number of international destinations to neighboring countries. The airport has a single terminal building which uses air bridges for planes to disembark and load passengers. The airport was named after the late minister of Defence and crown prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz.

Jiddah International Airport, also known as Abbas Ibn Firnas Airport or Kandara Airport was the first airport of Saudi Arabia located within Al-Kandara, Jeddah. It was the original airport serving the cities Jeddah and Mecca in the kingdom before the construction of King Abdulaziz International Airport. The airport operated as a major gateway into Mecca, mainly serving pilgrims during Haji seasons, however it also scheduled regular flights. It also operated the 8 wing of the Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) and its Lockheed C-130 Hercules. Air France had a facility at Jiddah International Airport for its international operations.
