Instituto Superior TécnicoMHSE • MHIP is a public school of engineering and technology, part of University of Lisbon. It was founded as an autonomous school in 1911, and integrated in the Universidade Técnica de Lisboa in 1930. IST is the largest school of engineering in Portugal by number of enrolled students, faculty size, scientific production and patents.
The University of Aveiro is a public university, in addition to providing polytechnic education, located in the Portuguese city of Aveiro. The British International School Shanghai is an international school in Shanghai, China and is part of the Nord Anglia Education family of schools. There were two campuses originally with the Nord Anglia International School Shanghai Pudong opening in 2002 and the Puxi Campus in 2004. In 2015, the Pudong campus became the Nord Anglia International School Shanghai with The British International School Shanghai, Puxi retaining its original name.
The Carlucci American International School of Lisbon is a prominent private international school in Linhó, Sintra, a wealthy suburb of Lisbon on the Portuguese Riviera. Founded in 1956, CAISL is the oldest American school in the Iberian Peninsula and the only U.S. State Department school in Portugal. It is named in honor of Frank C. Carlucci III, former U.S. Ambassador to Portugal and U.S. Secretary of Defense. Hillary Clinton, at the time First Lady of the United States, officially inaugurated CAISL's current campus in Linhó in 1998.
Vale Verde International School (VVIS) is an international school located in Burgau, Algarve, Portugal. The school was established in 2002 when it obtained its official license from the Ministry of Education. The school is one of two licensed international private primary schools in the Western Algarve. VVIS has an emphasis on British education and follows a modified version of the English curriculum and prepares students for IGCSE and A level examinations. All IGCSE subjects are based on the Cambridge University curriculum. Admission to the school is dependent on a successful interview and entry examination.
