Non-Stop: Mexico to Jamaica is the eighth studio album by Ozomatli, released on Cleopatra Records in May 2017. Ozomatli teamed up with other Latin superstars in the making of the album. Several tracks in this album involved a reggae twist on some classic Latin songs. [2]

Ozomatli American band

Ozomatli are an American six-piece band playing primarily Latin, hip hop, and rock music, formed in 1995 in Los Angeles. They are known both for their vocal activist viewpoints and their wide array of musical styles – including salsa, jazz, funk, reggae, rap, and others. The group formed in 1995 and has since released seven studio albums. The group is also known for advocating for farm-workers' rights and immigration reform. The band has performed in various countries all over the world, including China, Tunisia, Jordan, Cuba, and Burma. Although the band has had many member changes over the years and has sometimes had as many as ten members, the current six members have been in the band since its debut album.

Barrio Fino is the third studio album by Puerto Rican rapper Daddy Yankee, released on July 13, 2004, in the United States by V.I. Music and El Cartel Records and internationally by Machete Music and Polydor Records. Released two years after his previous studio album, El Cangri.com (2002), the album was recorded in Puerto Rico between 2003 and 2004. It explores themes ranging from dance, sex, romance, introspection, and protest against political corruption and violence against women. Barrio Fino was instrumental in popularizing reggaeton in the mainstream market, enhancing Daddy Yankee's career, as well as cementing his status as one of the most successful Latin artists of the 2000s.

Chali 2na

Charles Stewart, better known as Chali 2na, is an American rapper, associated with the groups Jurassic 5 and Ozomatli. He is known for his Bass-Baritone and quick delivery rapping style.

Fotos y Recuerdos

"Fotos y Recuerdos" is a song recorded by American recording artist Selena for her fourth studio album, Amor Prohibido (1994). It was released by EMI Latin in January 1995, as the fourth single. A cover version of the Pretenders' 1983 single "Back on the Chain Gang", "Fotos y Recuerdos" was written by Chrissie Hynde with Spanish-language lyrics by Ricky Vela. Lyrically, the song describes a lonely female protagonist who "kisses the photo of her [lover] each night before falling asleep."

Porter is a record producer, singer, songwriter, arranger, and composer who has won one Grammy Award, and two Latin Grammy Awards, and worked on more than 40 albums with sales in the tens of millions. He is best known for his production work on Carlos Santana's album Supernatural, and for producing and writing some of the most popular Spanish-language singles for Ricky Martin.

En El Jardín

"En El Jardín" is a song written by Kike Santander and performed by Mexican recording artist Alejandro Fernández. It was co-produced by Santander and Emilio Estefan and features Cuban-American singer Gloria Estefan. It was released as the second single from Me Estoy Enamorando by Sony Music Mexico in 1997. The song is a pop ballad and portrays both singers falling in love, as if the love blossomed from a garden. A music video featuring both artists was made for the track.

Para Siempre (Forever) is the 79th studio album released by Mexican singer Vicente Fernández on September 18, 2007 by Sony BMG Norte. Written and produced by Joan Sebastian, and co-produced by Jesús Rincón, the album is a successful mariachi record. It has sold two million copies worldwide, and is one of the biggest-selling albums by Fernández. It spawned four singles: "Estos Celos", "La Derrota", "Un Millón de Primaveras" and the title track, the latter of which was used as the main theme to the Mexican telenovela Fuego En La Sangre, which brought the album wider exposure and helped it to stay in the charts for over two years. It was named the best-selling Regional Mexican Album of the decade by Billboard magazine.

The year-end charts for the Top Latin Songs chart are published in the last issue of Billboard magazine every year. The chart was based on information provided by Nielsen Broadcast Data Systems, which collected radio airplay information until October 2012 when the methodology was changed to include digital downloads and streaming activity. The Year-End charts represent aggregated numbers from the weekly charts that were compiled for each artist, song and record company.

Prince Royce American singer-songwriter and record producer

Geoffrey Royce Rojas, known professionally as Prince Royce, is an American-born Dominican singer and songwriter. At an early age, Royce took an interest in music, and in his teenage years began experimenting with music and writing poetry. By age nineteen, Royce met Andrés Hidalgo, who became his manager. Hidalgo later introduced Royce to record producer Sergio George, who immediately signed him to his label after hearing three of his demos.

Becky G American singer, songwriter and actress

Rebbeca Marie Gomez, also known as Becky G, is an American singer, songwriter and actress. Gomez first gained recognition in 2011 when she began posting videos of herself covering popular songs online. One of her videos caught the attention of producer Dr. Luke, who subsequently offered her a joint record deal with Kemosabe Records and RCA Records. While working on her debut effort, Gomez collaborated with artists will.i.am, Cody Simpson and Cher Lloyd. Her official debut single, "Becky from the Block" (2013), received a positive reception upon its release. She released her debut extended play, Play It Again (2013), later that same year. Her second single, "Can't Get Enough" (2014), featured guest vocals from Pitbull and went on to top the Latin Rhythm Airplay chart in the United States.

"Someday" is a song from Disney's 1996 animated feature film, The Hunchback of Notre Dame. It was written by composer Alan Menken and lyricist Stephen Schwartz and originally recorded by American singer and actress Heidi Mollenhauer in her film role as the singing voice of Esmeralda. It was one of three recordings, along with "In a Place of Miracles" and "As Long as There's a Moon", that were discarded during the storyboarding process to be replaced by "God Help the Outcasts." The directors Gary Trousdale and Kirk Wise both desired a quieter song for Esmeralda's scene inside the Notre Dame cathedral.

"Si Tú Supieras" is a song written by Kike Santander and performed by Mexican recording artist Alejandro Fernández. It was co-produced by Santander and Emilio Estefan and was released as the first single from Me Estoy Enamorando by Sony Music Mexico in August 1997. The song is a bolero-pop ballad with ranchera influences and portrays the singer yearning for his lover to know how much she means to him. A music video was made for the track and was used as the main theme for the Mexican telenovela María Isabel.

<i>El Dorado</i> (Shakira album) 2017 studio album by Shakira

El Dorado is the eleventh studio album by Colombian singer Shakira, released on 26 May 2017, by Sony Music Latin. The album is mainly sung in Spanish, with three songs in English. After her self-titled tenth studio album (2014), Shakira had her second child, suffered from writer's block and was uncertain about the future of her career. However, her collaboration on "La Bicicleta" with Carlos Vives and support from her boyfriend, Gerard Piqué, encouraged Shakira to continue to work on music.

Urbano music or Latin urban is a transnational umbrella category including many different genres and styles. As an umbrella term it includes reggaeton, dancehall, dembow,urban champeta, Funk Carioca, Latin hip hop, and Latin trap. The commercial breakthrough of this music took place in 2017. Artists in the style collaborate transnationally, and may originate from the United States including Puerto Rico in particular, Colombia, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Panama, Venezuela or other Spanish-speaking nations, as well as Portuguese-speaking Brazil.
