Nordic Office of Architecture is a Norwegian architecture and masterplanning practice specialising in complex projects such as airports and hospitals.
The practice employs around 400 people located in offices in Oslo, Copenhagen, Aarhus, Aalborg.
Since 1991 Nordic Office of Architecture has been involved in the design and planning of Oslo Airport, following the decision that the main airport would move to Gardermoen from its previous location at Fornebu. The airport opened in 1998, and Nordic has been involved in the continuous improvement works and the current vast expansion, including a new pier, as part of Team_T. Team_T is a collaboration between Nordic Office of Architecture, COWI, Norconsult, Aas-Jakobsen and Per Rasmussen AS.
In 2014, Nordic Office of Architecture, Grimshaw Architects and Haptic Architects were assigned by the consortium of Cengiz-Kolin-Limak-Mapa-Kalyon to design the world's largest airport at the time, Istanbul Airport, that opened in 2019.
Nordic Office of Architecture is the lead architect of the New Government Quarter in Oslo, part of Team URBIS, the project team consisting of Nordic Office of Architecture, Haptic Architects, Cowi, Aas-Jacobsen, Ingeniør Per Rasmussen, SLA landscape architects, Bjørbekk & Lindheim landscape architects, Asplan Viak, Scenario, NIKU, and Norsam.
Notable hospital projects include St. Olav's University Hospital which was completed in 2013. This vast project included six new clinical centres in central Trondheim, all built while the hospital was fully operational. The hospital has been well integrated in the city and has received awards for urban design, sustainable design and inclusive design. Awards include The 'Health Project Over 40000 Award' from the International Academy for Design & Health in 2014 and 'The Innovation Award for Inclusive Design' from The Norwegian Centre for Design and Architecture 2015.
Opening in 2025, Stavanger University Hospital offer a complete range of medical services, designed consistently with the users in mind. Autodesk named the project the world’s best digital construction project.
The practice was founded as Narud Stokke Wiig Architects and Planners in 1979 but changed names in 2012.
Braathens ASA, until 1997 Braathens South American & Far East Airtransport A/S and trading as Braathens SAFE, was a Norwegian airline which operated from 1946 until it merged with Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) in 2004 to become SAS Braathens. For most of its history, Braathens was the largest domestic airline in Norway, but did not operate an international network for many years. Its main hubs were Oslo Airport, Fornebu and later Oslo Airport, Gardermoen, and briefly Stockholm-Arlanda Airport. The airline operated 118 aircraft of 15 models, mostly Boeing 737 variants. Braathens served 53 airports and 50 cities with scheduled services through its history.

Notodden Airport is a municipal regional airport at Heddal in Notodden, a municipality in Telemark county, Norway. The airport is mostly used for general aviation, and has extensive sailplane activity. In 2011, the airport had 5,078 aircraft movements and 3,423 passengers. The airport has a single 1,393-by-40-meter runway with flight information service and instrument landing system. In connection with the airport is a water aerodrome, which uses the lake of Heddalsvatnet for take-off and landing.
Norway Airlines A/S was a Norwegian airline which operated between 1988 and 1992. Focusing on charter, the airline operated two Boeing 737-300 aircraft from 1988 to 1992, after which it operated two McDonnell Douglas MD-80 aircraft, one MD-83 and one MD-87. The airline flew a single scheduled route, between Oslo Airport, Fornebu and London Gatwick Airport, at first on contract with Air Europe and from 1991 at its own expense. At its peak, Norway Airlines had 196 employees. The company struggled financially and lost more than 100 million Norwegian krone (NOK) before terminating operations, having never made a profit.

Grimshaw Architects is an architectural firm based in London. Founded in 1980 by Nicholas Grimshaw, the firm was one of the pioneers of high-tech architecture. In particular, they are known for their design of transport projects including Amsterdam Bijlmer ArenA railway station, Waterloo International railway station and the award-winning Southern Cross railway station which was the recipient of the Royal Institute of British Architects Lubetkin Prize. Grimshaw is behind the design of the Sustainability Pavilion, an innovative net-zero building, for Expo 2020. The firm currently has offices in Los Angeles, New York, London, Paris, Dubai, Melbourne and Sydney, employing over 600 staff.
Braathens SAFE's domestic market was deregulated on 1 April 1994. Since then, any airline within the European Economic Area is free to operate any domestic or international route. Braathens rejected a proposal from the main competitor Scandinavian Airlines System (SAS) for a merger; instead the helicopter division was sold and the company listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange. New routes were opened from Oslo Airport, Fornebu to Bodø, Harstad/Narvik and Tromsø, but the routes from Bergen to these cities were terminated. International routes to Rome, Nice and Jersey were introduced. In 1996, Braathens SAFE bought Sweden's second-largest airline, Transwede, and started flying on the Oslo–Stockholm route. The following year, Transwede, with its five domestic routes, was merged into Braathens SAFE. The same year, KLM bought 30% of Braathens SAFE and the airlines started a partnership.
