The 2008 series of Norske Talenter was the first series of the programme. It aired on TV 2 with 16-year-old singer Erlend Bratland as the winner. 8-year-old hula hoop artist Vegard F. Dommersnes was the runner-up, and 12-year-old singer Nora Foss al-Jabri came in third place.
They had auditions in Oslo, Bergen, Trondheim and Kristiansand.

Pop Idol was a British music competition television series created by Simon Fuller which ran on ITV from 2001 to 2003. The aim of the show was to decide the best new young pop singer in the UK based on viewer voting and participation. Two series were broadcast, one in 2001–2002 and a second in 2003. Pop Idol was subsequently put on an indefinite hiatus after series judge Simon Cowell announced the launch of The X Factor in the UK in April 2004.
Nashville Star is an American reality television singing competition program that aired for six seasons, from 2003 to 2008. Its first five seasons aired on USA Network, while the last season aired on NBC. Its five seasons on USA made it the longest-running competition series on cable television at the time. In Canada, the show aired on CMT through season 5, but moved to E! beginning with season 6. CMT in the United States reaired each episode in season 6.
America's Most Talented Kid is an American television series that premiered on NBC on March 28, 2003. In each round, three age groups of talented children would perform songs, dance numbers, magic, and other forms of entertainment in front of head judge Lance Bass and other guest celebrity judges, such as Sisqo, Maureen McCormick, Jermaine Jackson and Daisy Fuentes. Host Mario Lopez led the highest scorer from each round until only three children were left to compete in the grand finale. In the end, Cheyenne Kimball was crowned the grand champion.

Britain's Got Talent is a televised British talent show competition, and part of the global Got Talent franchise created by Simon Cowell. Presented by Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, it is produced by both Thames and Syco Entertainment, distributed by Fremantle, and broadcast on ITV every year in late Spring to early Summer. The show premiered on 9 June 2007 following the success of America's Got Talent the previous year; it was initially planned for 2005, but a dispute between the broadcaster and its originally intended host led to production being suspended for two years.

The 2009 series of Norske Talenter was the first series of this television programme. It began airing on TV 2 February 13, 2009 with audition in Bergen, and the live final was held May 8, 2009. The winners this season, was the hip hop dance crew Quick Style at the ages 17–18. Runner-up became 14-year-old classical singer Lydia Hoen Tjore and 6-year old magician Brian Aksnes Hoseth finished in third place.
New Zealand's Got Talent is a New Zealand reality television show which premiered in 2008. The show is based on the Got Talent series. The show features singers, dancers, magicians, comedians and other variety performers of all ages competing for a top prize of $100,000 cash and a Toyota RAV4 car. Three judges appear on the show each week to provide feedback for the contestants.
Norske Talenter is a Norwegian talent show with a similar format to Britain's Got Talent, making it one of the Got Talent franchise programmes. The 16-year-old singer Erlend Bratland won the first series and Quick, a hip hop dance group, won the second series. The judges were music producer Jan Fredrik Karlsen, singer and actress Mia Gundersen and comedian/actor Thomas Giertsen. In 2008 Marte Stokstad and Sturla Berg-Johansen were hosts, and in 2008, Berg-Johansen joined Pia Lykke to be hosts.

Skal vi danse? is the Norwegian edition of the British television series, Strictly Come Dancing. It is produced by Monster Entertainment and broadcast on TV 2 Jon Peder Olrud and Geir Bie were producers in the first season. The second and third seasons were produced by Ingvild Daae. The series premiered on TV 2 on January 15, 2006. Skal vi danse? in Norwegian means "shall we dance?". Dancing celebrities with professional dancers and companies are reviewed by a panel of judges and the TV viewers. Each pair consists of a celebrity and a professional dancer and the one with the fewest votes does not participate in the next round.
Das Supertalent is a German talent show, part of the internationally successful Got Talent franchise, presented by Daniel Hartwich and Victoria Swarovski. Thailand's Got Talent ไทยแลนด์ก็อตทาเลนต์, is a Thai reality television series on the television network, and part of the global British Got Talent series. It is a talent show that features singers, dancers, sketch artists, comedians and other performers of all ages competing for the advertised top prize of 10,000,000 Baht. The show debuted in March 2011. Thailand is also the fifth country in Asia to license Got Talent series. The four judges Yuhtlerd Sippapak, Jennifer Kim, Cris Horwang, Pongsak Rattanaphong join hosts Ketsepsawat Palagawongse na Ayutthaya.

Beste Zangers, formerly De beste zangers van Nederland is a Dutch reality television show by public broadcaster AVROTROS. The first series was aired between 5 July and 30 August 2009 and was hosted by Edsilia Rombley. She was first replaced by singer and actor Victor Reinier before Jan Smit became the permanent host in 2012.
Airtel Super Singer Junior – Ithu Thamizhagathin Chellakuralukkana Thedal – is a reality TV show since 2007 hosted by Vijay TV, a popular Tamil channel of the Star Network, and sponsored by Bharti Airtel. It is a singing talent hunt for the children of age group 6–14. This is the junior version of the Airtel Super Singer show, which premiered in 2006. Auditions are held in various parts of Tamil Nadu, India. The show attracts many kids from all over the state and rigorous multi-level selection procedures are done in order to select the contestants for the competition.
Got Talent España, is the Spanish version of the international Got Talent series. It is hosted by Santi Millán and broadcast on Spanish Telecinco channel. The idea behind the programme is to search for the most talented and promising entertainment. The series premiered on 13 February 2016. The new show is a continuation of an original series Tienes Talento that had seen one season starting 25 January 2008 on Cuatro, hosted by Nuria Roca and Eduardo Aldán and had been discontinued after one season. On 15 June 2015, Mediaset España announced the revival of the series for the group's main channel Telecinco. The judges were Edurne, Eva Hache, Jesús Vázquez, and Jorge Javier Vázquez.
Cambodia's Got Talent is a talent show in the Got Talent series it is hosted by Nhem Sokun and Per Chamrong and the judges are Preap Sovath, Khat Sokhim and Neavy Koy. It premiered on Hang meas HDTV on 30 November 2014.
