The North Dakota Soccer Association is the governing body of soccer in the state of North Dakota. [1]
The United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA) is a national organization for amateur soccer in the United States. It consists of 54 state associations in four regions, as well as national, regional, and state leagues. It compares to the United States Youth Soccer Association and its 54 affiliated State Associations - as it was once all one bodied structure.
The Summit League, or The Summit, is an NCAA Division I intercollegiate athletic conference with its membership mostly located in the Midwestern United States, from Minnesota in the east, to the Dakotas, Nebraska and Colorado to the West, and Missouri and Oklahoma to the South. Founded as the Association of Mid-Continent Universities in 1982, it rebranded as the Mid-Continent Conference in 1989, then again as the Summit League on June 1, 2007. The league headquarters are in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
The University of Jamestown is a private Christian university in Jamestown, North Dakota. Founded in 1883 by the Presbyterian Church, it has about 1,300 students enrolled and has been co-educational from its founding. Until August 2013, the school was known as Jamestown College.
Presentation College (PC) was a private Roman Catholic college with its main campus in Aberdeen, South Dakota and a branch campus in Fairmont, Minnesota. The college, founded in 1951 and co-educational since 1968, enrolled about 800 students at its height in 2016. It took its name from the Sisters of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary (PBVM), the original sponsors. It grew out of their Notre Dame Junior College, founded in 1922 in Mitchell, South Dakota. The college closed on October 31, 2023 due to financial and enrollment challenges.
The North Dakota Fighting Hawks soccer team in Grand Forks, North Dakota competes in the Summit League. The current Fighting Hawks soccer head coach is Chris Logan.
The Prairie Rose State Games was a multi-sport event for athletes from the U.S. State of North Dakota. It was part of the State Games of America. The first games were held in Bismarck, North Dakota in 1987, and the last games were held in July 2011.

Dacotah Field is an outdoor stadium in the north central United States, on the campus of North Dakota State University (NDSU) in Fargo, North Dakota. It is the former home of the North Dakota State Bison football team, and the current home of the North Dakota State Bison women's soccer team. The field runs east-west at an approximate elevation of 900 feet (275 m) above sea level.
The Omaha Mavericks are the sports teams of the University of Nebraska Omaha. They participate in the NCAA's Division I and in The Summit League, except in ice hockey, where they compete in the National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC).

The three match tournament was held at Dacotah Field in Fargo, North Dakota. The four team single-elimination tournament consisted of two rounds based on seeding from regular season conference play. The South Dakota State Jackrabbits were the three-time defending tournament champions after defeating the North Dakota State Bison 3–0 in the championship match in 2015.
Dakota Fusion FC is a semi-professional soccer team based in Fargo-Moorhead. They have played in the National Premier Soccer League since May 2017 and the Women's Premier Soccer League since 2018. They have announced intent to begin play in the division 3 women's professional league WPSL PRO in 2026. The team colors are black and yellow.
Sioux Falls Thunder FC is a men's soccer club based in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The club currently competes in the National Premier Soccer League in the North Conference, having joined the league as an expansion team in 2016. The team's colors are red and black.
The 2017 Summit League women's soccer tournament was the postseason women's soccer tournament for the Summit League held on November 2 and 4, 2017. The three-match tournament took place at Dacotah Field in Fargo, North Dakota. The four-team single-elimination tournament consisted of two rounds based on seeding from regular season conference play. The South Dakota State Jackrabbits were the defending champions, but they were eliminated from the 2017 tournament with a 2–0 semifinal loss to the North Dakota State Bison. The Denver Pioneers won the tournament and earned the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. The tournament win was Denver's second as a member of the conference.
The Daily News is a newspaper published daily, except Monday and Saturday, in Wahpeton, Richland County, North Dakota. Its readers are the communities of Wahpeton and Breckenridge, Wilkin County, Minnesota. The newspaper was founded in 1971 and is owned by Wick Communications. It had a daily print circulation of 1,832 in 2021. The newspaper also has a digital website and presence on Facebook.
The 2021 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup was planned to be the 107th edition of the U.S. Open Cup, a knockout cup competition in American soccer. After the 2020 competition was suspended and ultimately canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the United States Soccer Federation announced that qualification for the 2021 Open Cup would be canceled and all 100 teams that had qualified for that competition would be invited back. On February 8, 2021, the U.S. Soccer Federation backtracked and stated that only 24 teams would be allowed to participate in a new abbreviated tournament, with the exact qualification details still being determined.
