North Lincolnshire Museum (formerly known as Scunthorpe Museum [1] ) is a local museum in the town of Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire, England. [2] [3]
The museum is on Oswald Road, near the Scunthorpe railway station. [4] It is run by North Lincolnshire Council. [5] The museum has interactive exhibits and covers archaeology, nature, the Victorian era, and war time. It is housed in the former Frodingham vicarage, built in 1874 on the site of Frodingham Hall. [1] There is also a modern extension to the museum.
It re-opened in February 2016 after undergoing a £150,000 refurbishment. [6]

The Appleby Frodingham Railway Preservation Society is based at Scunthorpe in North Lincolnshire. The society owns locomotives and rolling stock but not the railway it runs on. The name comes from the Appleby-Frodingham Steel Company, now known as British Steel Limited Scunthorpe after the companies buyout by Greybull Capital in 2016, and after going into compulsory liquidation in 2019, Jingye Group. The railway operates entirely within the Steelworks limits over tracks normally used for moving molten iron, steel and raw materials. Trains travel between 7 and 15 miles, all within the steelworks.

Humberside Airport is an international airport at Kirmington in the Borough of North Lincolnshire, England, 10 NM from three large settlements: Grimsby (east), Hull (north) and Scunthorpe (west), on the A18, the latter two places reached by longer roads, in the case of Hull via England's longest bridge that crosses the Humber Estuary. It was owned by Manchester Airports Group from 1999 until 1 August 2012, when it was sold to the Eastern Group of companies. North Lincolnshire Council retains a minority of shares in the Airport.

The Trent, Ancholme and Grimsby Railway was a railway line in north Lincolnshire which commenced at an end on junction with the South Yorkshire Railway where that railway crossed the River Trent near the village of Gunhouse. This was known as Gunhouse Junction but the village has become known as "Gunness". The line ran for about 14 miles (22.5 km) through Frodingham to Wrawby Junction near Barnetby and included railway stations at Appleby, and Elsham. The line also included two branches to Gunness and Gunhouse Wharf on the River Trent. The line was opened on 1 October 1866.
