Curriculum
Approximately 125 courses are offered in the areas of Art, Business, English, Family and Consumer Science, Foreign Language, Health/Physical Education, Industrial Technology, Math, Music, Science, Social Studies, Special Education, and Vocational. Honors credit is granted in most accelerated courses. Also available to students are Accelerated Pre-Calculus, in which students completing the course will receive LCCC credit, Accelerated US History, Biology Seminar, and Spanish Four will receive Kenyon College credit. Advanced Placement Art History, Government, AP Senior English, and US History are also offered. North Ridgeville High School has units for Disability Handicapped students and are actively involved in Inclusion. North Ridgeville High School also offers six vocational programs including Career Based Intervention 9, 10, and Marketing Education 11 & 12.
Juniors and Seniors may elect to attend the Lorain County Joint Vocational School that offers over thirty vocational programs. These students are bused to LCJVS for their vocational and academic course work. Juniors and Seniors that meet the requirements can enroll in area colleges as a post-secondary option student. The high school's choral and instrumental programs receive consistently high ratings in state and local competitions.
Vocational education is education that prepares people for a skilled craft as an artisan, trade as a tradesperson, or work as a technician. Vocational education can also be seen as that type of education given to an individual to prepare that individual to be gainfully employed or self employed with requisite skill. Vocational education is known by a variety of names, depending on the country concerned, including career and technical education, or acronyms such as TVET and TAFE.
Salem Academy is a boarding and day school for high school girls in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. It shares its campus with Salem College, located near historic Old Salem. It is the oldest private school in North Carolina, and the fourth-oldest boarding school in the United States.
Wildwood School is an independent progressive K–12 school located in Los Angeles. Wildwood was founded as an elementary school in 1971, by a group of parents led by a young lawyer named Belle Mason. The secondary campus opened in 2000. The elementary campus is located in Los Angeles and the middle and upper school campus is located in West Los Angeles. There are approximately 300 students in grades K-5, the elementary campus, and 400 in grades 6–12 at the middle and upper school campus.
The educational system in Taiwan is the responsibility of the Ministry of Education. The system produces pupils with some of the highest test scores in the world, especially in mathematics and science. Former president Ma Ying-jeou announced in January 2011 that the government would begin the phased implementation of a twelve-year compulsory education program by 2014.
The Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC) is a public career technology school in Englewood, Ohio. It serves five southwestern Ohio counties. Prior to 1994, it was known as the Montgomery County Joint Vocational School.
The American Community School is a private, preparatory, international school in Amman, the capital of Jordan. It is an independent, coeducational day school which offers an American educational program from preschool through grade 12 for students of all nationalities. The School was founded in 1955.
Trinity High School is a Roman Catholic college preparatory high school for girls located in River Forest, a suburb of Chicago, Illinois. Located in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Chicago, it was founded in 1918 by members of the Sinsinawa Dominican Sisters. Originally the school was built on the grounds of Rosary College, which is now Dominican University, but in 1926 the campus was relocated a few blocks away from the original site. Today, Trinity High School has an enrollment of 500 young women divided among four grade levels. Trinity students come from 45 zip codes and 144 different grade schools.
San Marcos High School is a public high school located in a suburban area two miles from the city of Santa Barbara, California. Accredited through the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, the school was named a California Distinguished School in 1994 and 2005, and a Gold Ribbon School in 2015.
Basha High School is a public high school located in Chandler, Arizona and was the third high school built by Chandler Unified School District.
Mansfield High School (MHS) is a four-year, comprehensive public high school located in Mansfield, Massachusetts, United States. It is the only high school in the Mansfield Public Schools system. MHS has approximately 1,300 students in grades nine though twelve. The school teams are named the Hornets, the mascot is Sting the Hornet, and the school colors are green, white, and black.
Lorain County Community College (LCCC) is a public community college in the city of Elyria in Lorain County, Ohio, with learning centers in Wellington, North Ridgeville, and Lorain. In addition to associate degrees and certificates, students can earn bachelor's and master's degrees on campus through the college's partnerships with universities.
Normandy High School is a public high school in Parma, Ohio, United States, serving students in grades 9–12. The school is part of the Parma City School District, with admission based primarily on the locations of students' homes. Established in 1968, Normandy is located approximately three miles west of Interstate 77 on West Pleasant Valley Road. In the 2005-06 school year, the school had an enrollment of 1,283 students and 77.9 classroom teachers, for a student-teacher ratio of 16.5.
The San Diego Community College District is one of the largest of California's 73 community college districts, the San Diego Community College District serves approximately 80,000 students annually at its three credit colleges, San Diego City College, Mesa College, and Miramar College, as well as seven campuses of San Diego College of Continuing Education.
East Liverpool Junior/Senior High School is a public high school in East Liverpool, Ohio, United States. It is the only secondary school in the East Liverpool City School District, serving the city and surrounding Glenmoor, La Croft and Liverpool Township. Athletic teams compete as the East Liverpool Potters in the Ohio High School Athletic Association as a member of the Buckeye 8 Athletic League as well as the Ohio Valley Athletic Conference.
New Philadelphia High School is a public high school in New Philadelphia, Ohio, United States. Founded in 1913 as Central High School, New Philadelphia High School is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools and the Ohio Department of Education. Athletic teams compete as the New Philadelphia Quakers in the Ohio High School Athletic Association as a member of the Ohio Cardinal Conference.
North Brookfield High School is a public high school in North Brookfield, Massachusetts, United States. The school serves the residents of North Brookfield exclusively, making it one of the smallest high schools in the region. Recently, a new building was built next to the old one. The construction was completed in 2006. NBHS was founded in 1857, making 2007 its 150th anniversary.
North Pocono High School is a public, four-year high school located in Covington Township, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania. The school building was built in 2009.
