Northland Juices is a division of Apple & Eve, a juice company based in Port Washington, New York, United States. Apple & Eve, [1] founded by president Gordon Crane in 1975, is one of the largest privately held juice companies in the U.S.

Company history

Apple & Eve L.L.C is a privately held company specializing in 100 percent juice and organic juice products. In 1983, Northland Cranberries, Inc. launched its brand of 100% juice cranberry blends in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, sold through supermarkets, drug store chains, mass merchandisers and food service outlets throughout the United States.

Publicly owned since 1987, Northland Cranberries, Inc.'s branded juice division was acquired by Apple & Eve in 2005 [2] becoming the largest independently owned juice company in the U.S. [3] Apple and Eve was acquired in 2014 by Lassonde Industries. [4]

Community involvement

In the U.S., Northland Juices participates in an annual program called "Drink To Pink" to raise money for breast cancer research. Northland Juices donates 10 cents for each bottle of Northland Dark Fruit Blends bought by consumers redeeming special coupons on purchase. A minimum of $50,000 is donated to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation each year. By March 2011, over $450,000 had been raised. [5] [6] [1]

The use of vitamins, amino acids, and herbs, and alternative sweeteners such as crystalline fructose places Fuze products in what is known in the industry as the new age beverage category.

Odwalla Inc. was an American food product company selling fruit juices, smoothies and food bars founded in Santa Cruz, California in 1980 and from 1995–2020 was headquartered in Half Moon Bay, California. Odwalla's products included juices, smoothies, soy milk, bottled water, organic beverages, and several types of energy bars, known as "food bars".

Minute Maid is a product line of beverages, usually associated with lemonade or orange juice, but which now extends to soft drinks of different kinds, including Hi-C. Minute Maid is sold under the Cappy brand in Central Europe and under the brand "Моя Семья" in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States. The pink ribbon is an international symbol of breast cancer awareness. Between 1998 and 2021 it was a subsidiary of PepsiCo, but in August 2021, 61% of Tropicana was sold along with the rest of PepsiCo's juice brand portfolio for $3.3 billion to PAI Partners. PepsiCo retained the remaining 39% of ownership.

Cran-apple juice is a blend of cranberry juice and apple juice marketed by the Ocean Spray cooperative, styled as Cran•Apple. The juice blend is marketed as combining the tartness of cranberry with the sweetness of the apple. Until 1963, when the product was first developed, cranberries were sold in the form of cranberry juice and cranberry sauce primarily around Thanksgiving and Christmas time. The Cranapple blend helped turn the cranberry into a year-round product. Cranapple started a trend and was followed by other juice blends.
