Radio Sausalito is a "Part 15" AM radio station broadcasting a Big Band Jazz format on 1610 & 1710 kHz. The station is noncommercial and serves the Southern Marin County, California area. The station has partnerships with the local paper, the local library, and local businesses which host its programs. Its programming is also made available online via podcasts. The station has an agreement with the city of Sausalito to provide information to residents in the event of an emergency. In 2009 the station was selected as the audio accompaniment to the community calendar on Marin TV cable channels 26, 27, and 30. For several years Radio Sausalito was broadcasting on 1710 AM in Central San Rafael so as to broadcast the first and last games of the San Rafael Pacifics baseball team. In 2015 the station began broadcasting online and boasts a worldwide audience of over 10,000 per month.

The Central Marin Police Authority (CMPA) is a police agency in Marin County, California, covering Corte Madera, Larkspur, San Anselmo and portions of Greenbrae. In 1980 Corte Madera and its neighbor Larkspur merged their police departments into the Twin Cities Police Authority. Then on January 1, 2013, after two years of planning and public discussion, the Twin Cities Police Authority and the police department of San Anselmo merged agencies and became the Central Marin Police Authority.

The Flatiron Building is a historic building in the "Old Town" of Novato, California. Built in 1908 by Abraham Yelmorini, a Swiss immigrant and dairy farmer, who also operated a saloon behind it. It was designed to attract the attention of passengers arriving at the nearby Novato train station and prevent them from seeing the other saloons in town. After Mr. Yelmorini's saloon ceased operations, a Wells Fargo express office opened in its place. Below street level are several black doors, for purposes unknown. It served as offices of the local newspaper, the Marin County Banner, and in 1922, for the Novato Advance. In 1918, it housed a market; in 1958, a thrift shop; in 2007, a gift shop; a home furnishings store; and in 2012, a bookshop.
