Nu-Nation is a Russian nu metal/groove metal [1] band based in Saint Petersburg.
Nu-Nation was formed in 2009 by the musicians of several local bands who wanted to play groove metal in the vein of Soulfly. Their first long-play 'Wake Up', was released in 2012, and proved popular with fans of nu-metal and groove metal. Following this, the band had some line-up and style changing. Another album 'The Awakening' came out in 2014, it has a more extreme sound and darker atmosphere. In early 2016, the band released their last album, 'Insomnia', much more brutal but melodic as well, with a lot of music styles and elements mixed. The album received favorable reviews. [2] [3] [1]
The band played live all around Europe, and shared the stage with Soulfly, Betraying the Martyrs, Ektomorf and many others.
Nu-Nation started as groove/nu-metal band influenced by Sepultura, Ektomorf, but later changed the style, becoming a kind of extreme metal with elements of groove metal, hardcore, death metal, black metal. The musicians cite Iron Maiden, Korn, Dark Funeral, Behemoth as influences.

Nu metal is a subgenre of alternative metal that combines elements of heavy metal music with elements of other music genres such as hip hop, alternative rock, funk, industrial, and grunge. Nu metal bands have drawn elements and influences from a variety of musical styles, including multiple genres of heavy metal. Nu metal rarely features guitar solos or other displays of technical competence; the genre is heavily syncopated and based on guitar riffs. Many nu metal guitarists use seven-string guitars that are down-tuned to produce a heavier sound. DJs are occasionally featured in nu metal to provide instrumentation such as sampling, turntable scratching and electronic backgrounds. Vocal styles in nu metal include singing, rapping, screaming and growling. Nu metal is one of the key genres of the new wave of American heavy metal.
Risk is the eighth studio album by American heavy metal band Megadeth, released on August 31, 1999 by Capitol Records, the band's last album to be released by the label. The first Megadeth album since 1990 to feature a lineup change, Risk marks the studio debut of drummer Jimmy DeGrasso with the band, as well as the final appearance of longtime guitarist Marty Friedman, who announced his departure a year later. Meant to be a breakthrough on alternative rock radio, Risk received a mixed response because of the great deviation from the band's traditional sound. The backlash ultimately resulted with the band returning towards a heavier sound with their next album.
Thrash metal is an extreme subgenre of heavy metal music characterized by its overall aggression and often fast tempo. Soulfly is an American heavy metal band formed in Los Angeles, California, in 1997, and later based out of Phoenix, Arizona. Soulfly is led by former Sepultura frontman Max Cavalera, who formed the band after he left the Brazilian group in 1996. To date the band has released twelve studio albums, one tour EP, twenty-three singles, one video album, and twelve music videos. Their debut album, Soulfly, was released on April 21, 1998, while their most recent album, Totem, was released on August 5, 2022

Headtrip to Nowhere is the major label debut album by the Canadian heavy metal band Flybanger. It was released on February 20, 2001, through Columbia Records. The CD is enhanced to include a video of the song "Outlived", not otherwise heard on the disc. The album included two tracks which had been released with the band's Outlived EP. This album was Flybanger's only major release before disbanding.
Omen is the seventh studio album by American metal band Soulfly. It was recorded in November 2009 and was released first in Japan on May 18, 2010, and on May 25, 2010, in other parts of the world. It was released on May 24, 2010, in parts of Europe. It is the last album to feature bassist Bobby Burns and drummer Joe Nunez who were replaced by Asesino frontman, Tony Campos and former Borknagar drummer David Kinkade in mid-2011. At just over forty and a half minutes, it is the band's second shortest album while the shortest being Archangel at thirty-six and a half minutes.
Enslaved is the eighth studio album by American metal band Soulfly. It was recorded in fall 2011, mostly in Tallcat Studios in Phoenix, Arizona. Zeuss produced this album. This is the first album to feature Asesino frontman Tony Campos on bass, and the only album to feature former Borknagar drummer David Kinkade on drums, and their last studio album to be released through Roadrunner Records.
Havok is an American thrash metal band from Denver, Colorado, formed in 2004. As of 2021, their current lineup consists of David Sanchez, Pete Webber (drums) and Reece Scruggs. They have gone through a number of personnel changes, with each album featuring a different lineup, and leaving Sanchez as the only remaining original member left in the band.

Archangel is the tenth studio album by American heavy metal band Soulfly. It was released on August 14, 2015, through Nuclear Blast Entertainment. It is the band's shortest album to date, running thirty-six and a half minutes. It is the band's last album to feature bassist Tony Campos, who left the band shortly after recording to join Fear Factory. With a peak position of number 130 on the Billboard 200, it is Soulfly's second-lowest charting album to date. The statistic is common with the decreasing number of album sales worldwide in all genres of music, as digital releases have taken over the market. The ensuing "We Sold Our Souls To Metal" Tour to promote Archangel's release featured Soulfly playing as many as 7 songs from the album live each night, which is the first time since the Primitive Tour that the band has played the majority of a new album live.
Lody Kong is an American sludge metal band from Phoenix, Arizona, formed in 2011. The band is known for being led by brothers Igor and Zyon Cavalera, both sons of former Sepultura and current Soulfly frontman Max Cavalera. The band has been inactive since 2018.
Aggressor is the thirteenth studio album by Hungarian heavy metal band Ektomorf, released on 30 October 2015.
Ghost Notes is the debut studio album by the Norwegian Christian extreme metal band Vardøger, released on November 24, 2015. The album marked a departure from the band's previous unblack metal and Viking metal style, instead performing a broader mix of extreme metal, progressive metal, and melodic death metal. The album was met with a highly positive critical reception. In 2018, the members of Vardøger opted to disband.
