The first season of Objetivo Fama began in 2004. The season featured a varying panel of judges, including Roberto Sueiro, who is the only remaining judge of the original season. The show was hosted by Nicaraguan singer Luis Enrique.

Boleto De Entrada, is the second studio album of Latin Grammy winner, singer-songwriter Kany García. It reached the top 10 of the album charts in both the United States Latin charts and #1 in Puerto Rico. The album was released on November 6, 2010, and produced by García and Andrés Castro, Sony BMG. On September 8, 2010, Boleto De Entrada received a nomination for the 2010 Latin Grammy Awards in the category of "Best Female Pop Vocal Album". This was García's second nomination in this category, she previously won in this category in 2008. Boleto De Entrada was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Album.

Yo Canto is a Puerto Rican singing talent contest that started airing in 2011 on WKAQ-TV, the Telemundo outlet in Puerto Rico. It is produced by Soraya Sánchez, who previously produced the similar show Objetivo Fama, and Beatriz Oliveros. In contrast to Objetivo Fama, Yo Canto features singers from all ages, and contestants can participate as a group or duo.
