Observador is a Portuguese online newspaper started on May 19, 2014. It is the only Portuguese newspaper in Portugal with a defined political orientation (right-wing liberalism). [2]

In what was almost a unique concept at the time of launch, it is a completely digital newspaper with no printed edition, [3] with the exception of the Anniversary [4] and Lifestyle editions. [5] Observador commits itself to publish and update information on a 24/7 basis. [6]

In the first month, it reported 630,000 visitors. [7] By August 2015, it reported six million visitors and 35 million pageviews. [8] In January 2020, it reported 6.79 million visitors and 51.34 million pageviews. [9]

In its first year, the newspaper won the "Launch of the Year" award in the Meios & Publicidade Awards. It also elected as newspaper of the year in 2018 [10] by the same organization and it won the 2019 Edition of the Marktest award in "Press and Digital - Media". [11]

On 27 June 2019, Rádio Observador launched on 98.7 MHz in the Lisbon Metropolitan Area with about 30 collaborators. [12]

In October 2019, it launched on 98.4 MHz in the Porto Metropolitan Area.

The Radio focuses on Information but also airs music. Its many programs are also published in Podcast format. [13]

Manuel Pinho

Manuel António Gomes de Almeida de Pinho is a former Portuguese Minister of Economy and Innovation (2005–09) in the José Sócrates cabinet, who subsequently became an energy policy academic (2010–17) under circumstances that led to indictments in Portugal in 2017 and 2019 and to house arrest since 2021 on multiple charges of passive corruption, tax fraud, and money laundering. According to those charges, Pinho improperly benefited, by at least 1.2 billion euros, Portugal’s EDP - Energias de Portugal electricity company in exchange for it paying Columbia University to hire him after he left government; and he received, also while in office, at least 4.5 million euros in secret monthly offshore payments from his prior and subsequent boss Ricardo Espírito Santo Salgado whose Espírito Santo Financial Group benefited, according to Pinho's indictment, from several of Pinho's decisions as minister.

In Brazil, the FM extended band, abbreviated eFM, refers to the extension of the FM broadcast band between 76.1 and 87.3 MHz, beyond the conventional band of 87.5 to 108 MHz that was previously used. The reclaimed spectrum was previously used to broadcast television channels 5 and 6 before the country's digital television transition. The first eFM stations began broadcasting on May 7, 2021, and the spectrum is being used as part of a plan to migrate AM stations to the FM band.

Super Bock Super Rock is a music festival in Portugal, organized yearly since 1995. The festival has been held in various places throughout the years.
