Obsidian is the debut studio album by Dutch recording artist Naomi Sharon, released on October 20, 2023 [1] by OVO Sound and Santa Anna Label Group. The album was executive produced by Alex Lustig & Beau Nox; with production by 40, Alex Lustig, Andre Harris, Beau Nox, David Gramz, Jack Ro and Nineteen85. [2] Obsidian spawned five singles: "Hills", "Another Life", "Celestial", "Definition of Love", and "Regardless".

Background

Obsidian follows her signing to Drake's record label in early 2023 after she caught his attention from her second ever released single, "Breeze." [3]

Critical reception

A Book of Us lauded the album for its emotional depth and diverse range of influences. Further, they declare that the album transcends genres. [4]

Makonnen Kamali Sheran, better known by his stage name iLoveMakonnen, is an American former rapper and singer. He is best known for his 2014 single "Tuesday", which initially gained recognition following its remix with Canadian rapper Drake. After its release in August of that year, he signed with Drake's record label OVO Sound, an imprint of Warner Records that same month; the song was re-released by the label shortly after and subsequently peaked at number 12 on the Billboard Hot 100. "Tuesday" also received a nomination Best Rap/Sung Collaboration at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards, and served as the lead single for his likewise re-issued self-titled debut extended play (2014), which moderately entered the Billboard 200. MC4 is the twenty-first mixtape by American rapper French Montana. MC4 was originally intended to be released as his second studio album. It was released on November 5, 2016, by Coke Boys Records, Bad Boy Records, Maybach Music Group and Epic Records. However, the album's release was canceled after Target unofficially released the album on CD on its original release date of August 19, 2016, two months before the album was set to release, which was later leaked online in its entirety. "Falling Back" is a song by Canadian rapper and singer Drake. It was released through Republic Records and OVO Sound as the second track from his seventh studio album, Honestly, Nevermind, on June 17, 2022, along with the album. Drake wrote the song with producers &ME and Rampa and additional producers Alex Lustig and Beau Nox. The song was mixed by 40 and Luca Pretolesi and was recorded by Noel Cadastre.
