The University of Ghana is a public university located in Accra, Ghana. It is the oldest public university in Ghana.
Hohoe is a town and the district capital of Hohoe Municipality located in the Volta Region of Ghana. It is about 78 km (48 mi) from Ho, the regional capital and 220 km (140 mi) from Accra, the national capital. The population of Hohoe Municipality, according to the 2010 Population and Housing Census, is 167,016 representing 7.9 per cent of the total population of the Volta Region. It was founded in 1938, under the auspices of the Presbyterian Church of the Gold Coast. The Basel missionary-theologian, Nicholas Timothy Clerk (1862–1961), who served as the first Synod Clerk of the Presbyterian Church of the Gold Coast from 1918 to 1932, used his tenure to advocate for the establishment of the secondary school. The school has ties with its sister schools, Aburi Girls' Senior High School and Krobo Girls Senior High School.

She was the wife of former Ghanaian president John Atta Mills, and is the recipient of a Humanitarian award from the Health Legend Foundation. She was also the Second Lady of Ghana from 1996 to 2001. She taught for 33 years, teaching in schools such as Aburi Girls' Senior High School, Achimota School and Holy Trinity Cathedral Senior High School. She has been honoured in other countries and in Ghana for her contribution to children's education.

Since 1965, Ghana has been home to the FIC Congregation. Their visit to Ghana was prompted by an invitation from the Late Cardinal Peter Porekuu Dery, Bishop of the Diocese of Wa at the time. In order to promote teaching, education, and youth development, the FIC Brothers founded Nandom Secondary School, which is today Nandom Senior High. St Michael Secondary School was established in Kaleo in 1968. It was relocated to Nandom once the school building was finished.

The Ridge Church School is an independent and parochial co-educational preparatory day school in Accra, Ghana. Situated between the Gamel Abdul Nasser Avenue and Guinea Bissau Road and opposite the Efua Sutherland Children's Park, it was founded by the Accra Ridge Church in 1957, the year of Ghana's independence from the United Kingdom. The Ridge Church School is located on the premises of the church. It was the first wholly private basic school to be established in modern Ghana. The Accra Ridge Church was the first international solely English-speaking Protestant church in Ghana. The school is inter-denominational Christian, holding ties to the Anglican, Methodist and Presbyterian churches, that assign chaplains to both the church and school. The school runs a ten–year programme from kindergarten to lower primary through upper primary to junior high and culminating in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) administered by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC). The school largely follows the prescribed curriculum and syllabus of the Ghana Education Service (GES).
