Oh Darling is an American pop quartet, based in Los Angeles, California.
Guitarist Daven Hall, singer and keyboardist Jasmine Ash, bassist J. Marie Hall and drummer Jake Endicott started making music together in 2006 in Portland, Oregon, and relocated to Los Angeles in 2009.
Their latest album, Brave the Sound, was recorded in the band's home studio in Echo Park, Los Angeles, and was produced by guitarist Daven Hall. Mixed by Nate Anderson, the record includes songs such as "Love" (featured on the ABC series Ugly Betty ) and "Prettiest Thing", which was used in the soundtrack to Disney's film Prom (2011).
Songs from their previous albums have been featured on television series, including the CW's One Tree Hill , Lifetime's Drop Dead Diva and United States's Royal Pains .
The group has toured the West Coast, playing venues including the Doug Fir, The Viper Room, Spaceland and the Hotel Café. They have opened for The 88, Fitz and the Tantrums, Anya Marina and The Watson Twins. [1]
The music of Oregon reflects the diverse array of styles present in the music of the United States, from Native American music to the contemporary genres of rock and roll, country, rhythm and blues, jazz, pop, electronic music, and hip hop. Isaac Kristofer Brock is an American musician who is the lead singer, songwriter, guitarist and banjoist for the indie rock band Modest Mouse, as well as his side project band, Ugly Casanova. As a songwriter, he is noted for his wordplay and frequent use of metaphors, philosophical lyrics, themes of authentic rural lifestyles, and phrases and sayings commonly used in the early to mid-20th century and in blue collar environments. Brock is the sole founding member of Modest Mouse still with the band and the only member to appear on all of its studio albums.
"New Slang" is a song by American rock band The Shins, released on February 19, 2001 as the lead single from the group's debut studio album, Oh, Inverted World (2001). Written by guitarist and vocalist James Mercer, it concerns his hometown of Albuquerque, New Mexico and his experiences there in his late 20s. The lyrics are fueled with "angst and confusion," as Mercer was finding himself constantly depressed and disconnected from his friends and scene. The song attracted attention from Sub Pop Records, who issued the song as a single in February 2001. The buzz created by the song led to positive press for the group's debut album, Oh, Inverted World.

Norman Fowler Leyden was an American conductor, composer, arranger, and clarinetist. He worked in film and television and is perhaps best known as the conductor of the Oregon Symphony Pops orchestra. Terry Robb is a Canadian fingerstyle guitarist, composer, arranger and record producer living in the United States. He plays electric and acoustic guitar, and is associated with the American Primitive Guitar genre through his collaboration with steel string guitarist John Fahey. The Prettiest Curse is the third studio album by Spanish garage rock band Hinds. It was released on June 5, 2020 under Mom + Pop Music and follows 2018's I Don't Run. The album was recorded in New York City and produced by Jennifer Decilveo, who produced albums for Bat for Lashes, The Wombats, and Anne-Marie. The Prettiest Curse was preceded by the singles "Riding Solo", "Good Bad Times", "Come Back and Love Me <3", and "Just Like Kids (Miau)", along with music videos for "Good Bad Times", "Just Like Kids (Miau)" and "Burn".
Prom (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) is the soundtrack to the 2011 film of the same name. The album was released by Hollywood Records on April 26, 2011, featuring several pop tracks, performed by an assortment of artists including Neon Trees, Travie McCoy, Allstar Weekend, Passion Pit, Oh Darling, Girl in a Coma, Those Dancing Days, Nolan Sotillo amongst others. The soundtrack was promoted heavily weeks prior to the film's release, with three singles leading the album.
