Ola Byrknes

Ola Byrknes (4 April 1933-30 November 2011) was a Norwegian politician for the Centre Party. [1] [2]

He served as a deputy representative to the Norwegian Parliament from Sogn og Fjordane during the 1973–1977 term. [1]

On the local level he was a member of Gulen municipal councilfrom 1972 to 1999, serving as mayor from 1976 to 1978 and 1983 to 1999. He was a member of Sogn og Fjordane county council from 1976 to 1980.

He was also active in the Norwegian Association of Local and Regional Authorities.

Sogn og Fjordane District Court is a district court located in the town of Førde in Sogn og Fjordane county, Norway. The court serves the 25 of the 26 municipalities in the county including the municipalities of Aurland, Lærdal, Årdal, Luster, Sogndal, Leikanger, Vik, Balestrand, Solund, Hyllestad, Høyanger, Askvoll, Fjaler, Gaular, Naustdal, Førde, Jølster, Flora, Bremanger, Selje, Vågsøy, Eid, Hornindal, Stryn, and Gloppen. The court is subordinate to the Gulating Court of Appeal. The court is led by the chief judge Terje Mowatt. This court employs a chief judge, eight other judges, and eleven prosecutors.
