Olena Borysenko (born 4 June 1996 in Kreminna, Ukraine) is a Ukrainian athlete who competes in compound archery. She started archery in 2013 and first competed for the Ukrainian national team in 2014. She is righthanded. Her draw weight is 52 lbs. As well as competing internationally in archery, she is a student. Her hobbys are singing and sociology. [1] [2]
She is the member of the Ukrainian women's team that won the first ever medal in compound archery and the first ever gold medal overall for Ukraine at World Archery Championships in 2015. [3] [4]
Ukraine competed at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece, from 13 to 29 August 2004. This was the nation's third consecutive appearance at the Summer Olympics in the post-Soviet era. The National Olympic Committee of Ukraine sent the nation's largest ever delegation to these Games. A total of 240 athletes, 125 men and 115 women, took part in 21 sports. Women's handball was the only team-based sport in which Ukraine had its representation at these Games for the first time. There was only a single competitor in modern pentathlon and taekwondo.
Park Sung-hyun is an archer from South Korea who competed in two Olympic Games, winning three gold medals. Park made her international archery debut in 2001, winning the women's recurve title at that year's World Archery Championships. Her Olympic debut came at the 2004 Summer Olympics, where she won gold medals in both the women's individual and women's team events. She won two further medals at the 2008 Summer Olympics, achieving her third Olympic gold in the women's team event before earning the silver medal as the runner-up in the women's individual event.
Olena Ivanivna Hovorova, also known as Yelena Govorova, is a former Ukrainian track and field athlete who specialised in triple jump competitions. She won the triple jump bronze medal at the 2000 Summer Olympics with her personal best jump of 14.96 metres. She represented Ukraine at the Olympics in the 1996, 2000, and 2004 triple jump competitions – the first three Olympic competitions for the discipline. She also competed at five consecutive World Championships in Athletics from 1995 to 2003.
