Olga Ida Magdalena Grau Duhart (born September 21,1945) is a contemporary Chilean writer,full professor,and philosopher, [1] a specialist in gender,sexuality,philosophy,education,and literature. [2]
Olga Ida Magdalena Grau Duhart [3] was born in Santiago,Chile,September 21,1945. She has a Diploma in childhood studies from Montclair State University,in Montclair,New Jersey,U.S.,and a Doctorate in Literature with a specialization in Chilean and Hispanic literature from the University of Chile.
Grau was awarded a FONDECYT project in 1993,for "Discurso,Género y Poder:Un Análisis de Discursos Públicos Oficiales en Chile (1978-1993)" (Discourse,Gender and Power:An Analysis of Official Public Discourses in Chile (1978-1993)) and in 1995,for "El Relato Mítico de la Quintrala en el Imaginario Cultural" (The Mythical Story of the Quintrala in the Cultural Imaginary). [4] In 2010,she was awarded another FONDECYT project entitled:"Filosofía,Literatura y Género:La Escritura de Simone de Beauvoir" (Philosophy,Literature and Gender:The Writing of Simone de Beauvoir). She works as a full professor at the Faculty of Philosophy and Humanities and at the "Centro de Estudios de Género y Cultura en América Latina" (CEGECAL) (Center for Gender and Cultural Studies in Latin America) at the University of Chile. She is also coordinator of the Philosophy for Children program and director of the " Comunidad de Indagación en Filosofía e Infancia en Chile" (CIFICH) (Community of Inquiry in Philosophy and Childhood in Chile). [7] Grau has written books and essays,and made presentations on gender,sexuality,philosophy,childhood,education and literature.
In 1999,she received an award from the Book Council in the category “unpublished essay”for her text "Catalina,Catrala,Quintrala. Tres nombres y una persona no más" (Catalina,Catrala,Quintrala. Three names and just one person). [8]

She is one of Mexico's leading feminists and has written many books aimed at reducing discrimination by opening public discourse on feminism,gender,prostitution and abortion. Since 1990,Lamas has edited one of Latin America's most important feminist journals,Debate Feminista. In 2005,she was nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize.

After completing studies at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile and École pratique des hautes études at the Sorbonne,she went into exile in Peru because of the military dictatorship in Chile. Continuing her studies,she earned a master's degree in Peru and a PhD in Spain. From 1978,she became interested in women's studies and began researching in the area of women and public policy. After twenty years working at the Flora Tristán Peruvian Women's Center,she returned to Chile. Since 2002,she has been the deputy director of the Centro de Estudios de la Mujer in Santiago.
Raquel Olea is a Chilean writer,professor,cultural critic,and researcher. She is a Distinguished Professor of Arts,Letters,and Humanities (Emerita) at the University of Santiago. Her areas of research are Spanish,Chilean,and Latin American literature,as well as gender studies and women's literature,of which she was an important promoter during the time of the military dictatorship in Chile. She is recognized for her research on the work of Gabriela Mistral. Furthermore,Olea is a prominent figure of second-wave feminism in Chile during the Pinochet military dictatorship years.
