Line 3 Scarborough was a light rapid transit line that was part of the Toronto subway system in Toronto,Ontario,Canada. The line ran entirely within the eastern district of Scarborough,encompassing six stations and 6.4 kilometres (4.0 mi) of mostly elevated track. It connected with Line 2 Bloor–Danforth at its southwestern terminus,Kennedy,and terminated in the northeast at McCowan. In 2022,the system had a ridership of 4,720,000,or about 18,700 per weekday as of the second quarter of 2023.

The Spadina Expressway,planned since the 1940s,was cancelled in 1971 after being only partially constructed. Forming much of the eastern portion of Toronto's waterfront,the Scarborough Bluffs stands above the shoreline of Lake Ontario. At its highest point,the escarpment rises 90 metres (300 ft) above the coastline and spans a length of 15 kilometres (9.3 mi).
Augustus Vincent Patrick Harris was a Canadian politician. He was born in Liverpool,Lancashire,England. He was the mayor of Scarborough,Ontario from 1978 to 1988. Although he was a relatively conservative,pro-development mayor,Harris's political roots were in the labour movement,the Co-operative Commonwealth Federation and the New Democratic Party. He was a long-time socialist and pacifist who was a conscientious objector during World War II.
