Olli "Ollie" Tukiainen is a Finnish musician and the guitarist of the rock band Poets of the Fall. [1]

Biography

Before joining Poets of the Fall, Tukiainen, along with Poets vocalist Marko Saaresto, made songs for Playground, which was Saaresto's band before Poets of the Fall. Shortly after, they were joined by Markus Kaarlonen whom Saaresto got to know him through his friend Sami Järvi, a scriptwriter working at Remedy Entertainment.

Signs of Life is the debut album by the Finnish alternative rock band Poets of the Fall. It was released on 19 January 2005 and debuted at number-one on the Finnish charts. The album was released on the iTunes Music Shop in Finland, Norway, Denmark and Sweden in August 2005. It was released on iTunes for worldwide purchase on 12 April 2008. A limited vinyl-edition was released on the band's official webshop on 19 January 2011.

The album went straight to the top of the Finnish Top 40 album chart and stayed inside the Top 40 for 26 weeks.

Marko Saaresto is the founding member, lead vocalist and primary songwriter of the Finnish alternative rock band Poets of the Fall. Saaresto worked as a graphic designer before forming the band in late 2002. Sam Lake, Saaresto's friend and writer of the Max Payne series of videogames offered Saaresto a job writing the lead single for the game Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne. Saaresto wrote the single along with guitarist Olli Tukiainen and were assisted with the production by Remedy engineer Markus Kaarlonen. The song, "Late Goodbye" became a cult hit and propelled Poets of the Fall's rise to stardom. Saaresto has since toured in over 15 countries with Poets of the Fall. He is a classically trained singer and has a bass-baritone vocals range. He later went on to have bigger success within the video game industry when his band and he wrote and performed for the soundtrack of Alan Wake.

Phoenix Effect is an alternative rock/post-grunge band from Espoo, Finland. Formed in 2008 by guitarist and vocalist Janne Kärkkäinen, the band has released two studio albums. Their first album, Cyanide Skies, was released on 18 February 2009 in Finland and entered the Finnish album charts at No. 22. Phoenix Effect have been known to collaborate with leading Finnish alternative rock band Poets of the Fall. Marko Saaresto and Olli Tukiainen from Poets of the Fall have performed additional vocals/guitars for the album. They have also made a cameo appearance in Phoenix Effect's music video 'King See No Evil'.
