Markus "Captain" Kaarlonen (born 16 November 1973) is a Finnish musician, songwriter, producer, and the keyboardist of the rock band Poets of the Fall. [1] Kaarlonen first became known in the underground with his Amiga MOD music in the early 1990s. His first commercial album was released as Dance Nation's album Dawn in 1994. After that he worked as producer for pop group Aikakone.
Kaarlonen also worked for the software company Futuremark as a Senior Web Developer and Audio Designer. He has also composed and/or produced music for video games, including Rochard , [2] Max Payne 2 , Alan Wake , [3] and Shattered Horizon . [4]

The album was released on the iTunes Music Shop in Finland, Norway, Denmark and Sweden in August 2005. It was released on iTunes for worldwide purchase on 12 April 2008. A limited vinyl-edition was released on the band's official webshop on 19 January 2011.

Gabriel & Dresden is an American electronic music duo comprising Josh Gabriel and Dave Dresden, formed in San Francisco, California. They collaborated from 2001 to 2008, then again from 2011 to the present. During that time, they have created numerous hit songs and remixes, some of which are considered classics. Their first album, Cyanide Skies, was released on 18 February 2009 in Finland and entered the Finnish album charts at No. 22. Phoenix Effect have been known to collaborate with leading Finnish alternative rock band Poets of the Fall. Marko Saaresto and Olli Tukiainen from Poets of the Fall have performed additional vocals/guitars for the album. They have also made a cameo appearance in Phoenix Effect's music video 'King See No Evil'.
Home: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack is the soundtrack album for the 2015 animated film Home, based on the 2007 children book The True Meaning of Smekday by Adam Rex. It features songs recorded by Rihanna, Clarence Coffee Jr., Kiesza, Charli XCX, Jacob Plant, and Jennifer Lopez. It was released on March 13, 2015 through Westbury Road and Roc Nation. Following the announcement that Rihanna would star in the film, it was revealed she would release a concept album based on the animated film. As the executive producer of the soundtrack, she called on various artists to feature on the album. Rihanna's "Towards the Sun" and Jennifer Lopez's "Feel the Light" were released as singles to promote the album and movie.
Ultraviolet is the eighth studio album by Finnish rock band Poets of the Fall, released on 5 October 2018 through Insomniac. As stated in interviews, the album is the second part of a trilogy, the first part being their prior album. The album deals with the unseen world, the ultraviolet spectrum of light, which can, at times, be harmful. It's all that which we are not aware of, but which still affects us and influences us in our daily lives. How we perceive things and how we make choices and act based on those perceptions.

Poets of the Fall was formed in Helsinki, in 2003 by Marko Saaresto, Olli Tukiainen, and Markus Kaarlonen. Jani Snellman (bass), Jaska Mäkinen and Tapio (drums) were later recruited as touring members, and in 2006, with the replacement of Tapio with Jari Salminen, the three were added to the band's official lineup.
