Nightwish is a Finnish symphonic metal band from Kitee. The band was formed in 1996 by lead songwriter and keyboardist Tuomas Holopainen, guitarist Emppu Vuorinen, and former lead singer Tarja Turunen. The band soon picked up drummer Jukka Nevalainen, and then bassist Sami Vänskä after the release of their debut album, Angels Fall First (1997). In 2001, Vänskä was replaced by Marko Hietala, who also took over the male vocalist role previously filled by Holopainen or guest singers.
The Rasmus is a Finnish rock band that formed in 1994 in Helsinki while the band members were in upper comprehensive school. The original band members were Lauri Ylönen, Eero Heinonen (bass), Pauli Rantasalmi (guitar) and Jarno Lahti (drums). Jarno Lahti left the year after and was replaced by Janne Heiskanen in 1995. Heiskanen quit the band in 1999 and was soon replaced by Aki Hakala. Pauli Rantasalmi left the band and was replaced by guitarist Emilia "Emppu" Suhonen in 2022. Best known for their 2003 hit single "In the Shadows", the band has sold over 5 million albums worldwide and 350,000 albums in Finland alone, and has won numerous awards, both domestic and international. The band represented Finland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 with the song "Jezebel".
Falling into Infinity is the fourth studio album by American progressive metal band Dream Theater, released on September 23, 1997, through EastWest Records. It is the band's only studio album to feature keyboardist Derek Sherinian, following the departure of Kevin Moore in 1994.

He is the creative director at Remedy Entertainment, known for his writing on the popular Max Payne video game series, and Alan Wake. At the 2023 Game Awards, he won the Game Award for best game direction for Alan Wake II.
Poets of the Fall (POTF) is a Finnish rock band from Helsinki. The group consists of Marko Saaresto, Olli Tukiainen, Markus "Captain" Kaarlonen, Jani Snellman (bass), Jaska Mäkinen, and Jari Salminen.
Markus "Captain" Kaarlonen is a Finnish musician/songwriter/producer, and the keyboardist of the Finnish rock band Poets of the Fall. Kaarlonen first became known in the underground with his Amiga MOD music in the early 1990s. His first commercial album was released as Dance Nation's album Dawn in 1994. After that he worked as producer for pop group Aikakone.
Signs of Life is the debut album by the Finnish alternative rock band Poets of the Fall. It was released on 19 January 2005 and debuted at number-one on the Finnish charts. The album was certified platinum on 26 April 2006 and remained in the Top 40 for more than one year. The album was released on the iTunes Music Shop in Finland, Norway, Denmark and Sweden in August 2005. It was released on iTunes for worldwide purchase on 12 April 2008. A limited vinyl-edition was released on the band's official webshop on 19 January 2011.
Carnival of Rust is the second album by the Finnish rock band Poets of the Fall. It was released on 12 April 2006 in Finland, 12 September 2006 in Sweden, October 2006 in Australia, Russia and Ukraine, then on 20 April 2007 in Germany. The album went straight to the top of the Finnish Top 40 album chart and stayed inside the Top 40 for 26 weeks.
"Carnival of Rust" is the first single and the title track of the Carnival of Rust album by the Finnish rock band Poets of the Fall. It was released in Finland on 22 March 2006 and in Germany on 1 December 2006. The single contains two versions of the track and a live recording of the song "Don't Mess With Me" from the band's first album Signs of Life. The track was recorded on 15 July 2005 at Rockperry Festival in Vaasa, Finland.
"Sorry Go 'Round" is a limited edition single by the Finnish rock band Poets of the Fall with a special, black lacquered cover. Every copy has a unique number. It features two versions of the track, which have been remastered in comparison to the full album's version. The band also planned to include a remix of the song, but this idea has been abandoned. It is unknown if the remix was completed or if it will ever be released. Additionally, no music video has been made to promote the single. The single's release was originally planned on 26 July 2006 but was delayed to 16 August 2006 due to the popularity of the previous single, Carnival of Rust. The single peaked at number seven in the official Finnish singles chart.
"Locking Up the Sun" is the fourth track of the album Carnival of Rust by the Finnish rock band Poets of the Fall. A single version of the song has been released in Finland on 29 November 2006. It includes the title track, a remix entitled "The Absolution" done by Captain and the music video directed by Tuomas "stObe" Harju, who shot two of the band's previous clips, as well. The video started to be aired on Finnish television stations at the beginning of November 2006. The single peaked at number three in the official Finnish single charts.

Phoenix Effect is an alternative rock/post-grunge band from Espoo, Finland. Formed in 2008 by guitarist and vocalist Janne Kärkkäinen, the band has released two studio albums. Their first album, Cyanide Skies, was released on 18 February 2009 in Finland and entered the Finnish album charts at No. 22. Phoenix Effect have been known to collaborate with leading Finnish alternative rock band Poets of the Fall. Marko Saaresto and Olli Tukiainen from Poets of the Fall have performed additional vocals/guitars for the album. They have also made a cameo appearance in Phoenix Effect's music video 'King See No Evil'.
Ultraviolet is the eighth studio album by Finnish alternative rock band Poets of the Fall, released on 5 October 2018 through Insomniac. As stated in interviews, the album is the second part of a trilogy, the first part being their prior album. The album deals with the unseen world, the ultraviolet spectrum of light, which can, at times, be harmful. It’s all that which we are not aware of, but which still affects us and influences us in our daily lives. How we perceive things and how we make choices and act based on those perceptions.
