Omar Anwar (born 1 July 1983) is a former English cricketer who played for Oxford UCCE. He was born in Harrow. [1] [2]
He made his first appearance for the team against Middesex in 2003,scoring 99 in his first innings,which would remain his first-class best for the entirety of his career. He made two further first-class appearances during 2003,and two appearances for Middlesex Second XI at the end of the University year. [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7]
Anwar continued to appear for Oxford University until 2006,playing for Stanmore in the Cockspur Cup for the first time in 2005. [5] [8]
Greville Thomas Scott Stevens was an English amateur cricketer who played for Middlesex,the University of Oxford and England. A leg-spin and googly bowler and attacking batsman,he captained England in one Test match,in South Africa in 1927. He was widely regarded as one of the leading amateur cricketers of his generation who,because of his commitments outside cricket,was unable to fulfil his potential and left the game early.
Lionel Charles Hamilton Palairet was an English amateur cricketer who played for Somerset and Oxford University. A graceful right-handed batsman,he was selected to play Test cricket for England twice in 1902. Contemporaries judged Palairet to have one of the most attractive batting styles of the period. His obituary in The Times described him as "the most beautiful batsman of all time". An unwillingness to tour during the English winter limited Palairet's Test appearances;contemporaries believed he deserved more Test caps.
David Alleyne is a former English first-class cricketer who played for Middlesex and Nottinghamshire. He was primarily a wicket-keeper,"whose limitations with the bat severely limited his opportunities" and therefore primarily played in second XI cricket during his eleven seasons as a professional.
Herbert Tremenheere Hewett was an English amateur first-class cricketer who played for Somerset,captaining the county from 1889 to 1893,as well as Oxford University and the Marylebone Cricket Club. A battling left-handed opening batsman,Hewett could post a large score in a short time against even the best bowlers. Capable of hitting the ball powerfully,he combined an excellent eye with an unorthodox style to be regarded at his peak as one of England's finest batsmen.

Ian William Hall is an English former first-class cricketer and professional footballer. He played cricket for Derbyshire between 1959 and 1972,and played football for Derby County F.C. from 1959 to 1962 and for Mansfield Town F.C. from 1962 to 1968.
Michael Burns is an English first-class list cricket umpire and former first-class cricketer who played county cricket for Warwickshire and Somerset in a first-class career which spanned from 1992 until 2005. He also played Minor Counties cricket for Cumberland and Cornwall. Leslie Roff Vincent Prentice was an Australian-born English cricketer. A right-handed batsman and right-arm slow bowler,he had a brief first-class cricket career for Middlesex in the early 1920s.

Sir William O'Brien Lindsay was the Chief Justice of Anglo-Egyptian Sudan from 1950 or 1954 to 1955,during the period when it was administered as an Anglo-Egyptian condominium. He served in the Sudan Political Service from 1932 to 1955,and later establishing a law firm in Nairobi,Kenya. Lindsay was a talented sportsman as a youth,playing first-class cricket for Oxford University,Scotland and Kent County Cricket Club.
