Onhuno

Onhuno is a settlement in the Ohangwena Region of Namibia between Ongha and Ohangwena. Since the establishment of Helao Nafidi in 2004 it is a suburb of this town, [1] although it still maintained its own village council until the 2015 local authority election. [2]

The population is estimated to be around 7000 people. Onhuno is a developing place, the notable facilities in this area, is the weighbridge and a service station. The weighbridge, weighs trucks coming in and going out of Namibia. There is also a power station in Onhuno. beside that, there a lot of RDP follower, who intend to challenge the ruling party, they support this opposition party because of the certain reason, first thing there is no school, secondary nor primary, children have to travel long distance to get education on the nearby village, secondly there is no job opportunity like industry or any type of opportunity offered to other town or settlement, the only plantation available is not yet harvested.

Ohangwena Region Region in Namibia

Ohangwena is one of the fourteen regions of Namibia, its capital is Eenhana. The northern and western parts of the region are the most densely populated of this essentially subsistence agricultural region in which small scale mahangu cultivation and the keeping of cattle form the predominant activities. Eenhana Place in Ohangwena Region, Namibia

Eenhana is the capital town of the Ohangwena Region, northern Namibia, on the border with Angola. It also used to be a mission station of the Finnish Missionary Society.

Oshikango railway station is a terminal railway station on the Namibian-Angolan border serving the village of Oshikango and the town of Helao Nafidi. It is part of the TransNamib Railway railway network. The railway station was inaugurated on 5 July 2012 by the Namibian president Hifikepunye Pohamba.

Eenhana is a constituency in the Ohangwena Region of Namibia, on the border to Angola. It has 24,193 inhabitants, the district centre is the town of Eenhana.

Endola is a constituency in the Ohangwena Region of Namibia, on the border of Angola. It has 36,659 inhabitants, the district centre is the settlement of Endola. Ferdinand Ingashipola Shifidi became a councillor of the constituency in November 2014 and was re-elected in 2015.

Helao Nafidi town in Ohangwena Region, Namibia

Helao Nafidi is a town in Ohangwena Region in northern Namibia at the border to Angola. It has been established in 2004 as an amalgamation of several villages and settlements along the main road between Oshikango and Ohangwena which are both also part of the town. Helao Nafidi has 19,375 inhabitants. The town is separated into three urban areas, Oshikango in the north, bisected by the Namibian–Angolan border, and Omafo and Ohangwena south of it, with settlements and villages in the agricultural area between them.

2004 Namibian local and regional elections

Namibia held two subnational elections in 2004. Local Authority Council elections were held on 14 May 2004. Regional Council elections were held from 29-30 November 2004.

Oshikunde Constituency is an electoral constituency in the Ohangwena Region of Namibia. It was created in August 2013, following a recommendation of the Fourth Delimitation Commission of Namibia, and in preparation of the 2014 general election. The administrative centre of Oshikunde Constituency is the settlement of Omutwewomunu.

Engela Suburb of Helao Nafidi in Engela Constituency, Ohangwena Region, Namibia

Engela is an Ovambo settlement in the Ohangwena Region in northern Namibia. Formerly situated in the Oukwanyama area it is since 2004 part of the town Helao Nafidi, although it still maintained its own village council until the 2015 local authority election. It is one of the more important establishments of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Namibia (ELCIN) in the area. It started as a mission station of the Finnish Missionary Society. Today, it is the centre of the Engela Constituency.
