It is estimated to have grown from "a tiny cluster of shebeens around an open market into a thriving boomtown with around 5,000 to 8,000 inhabitants over a period of 10 years".

The constituency covers an area of 328 km2 (127 sq mi) and contains numerous settlements, including part of Ongha. The constituency office is situated at Endola. The constituency had a population of 25,591 in 2011, up from 24,804 in 2001.

The village is named after tree species called Omunghudi that was in pan nearby during its discovery, an elderly revealed. Situated on the very edge of the Owambo region. The first thing that unique about this village is the abundance of people, unlike the rest of the country. People, livestock, shebeens (bars) and markets are everywhere, seemingly all existing harmoniously in unplanned order.
