The Orchestre Français des Jeunes (French Youth Orchestra, French:  [ɔʁkɛstʁə fʁɑ̃sɛ de ʒœn] , OFJ) is the national youth orchestra of France, founded in 1982 by the Ministry of Culture. [1] [2] It consists of young musicians of ages 16 to 25, selected by audition.

In 2013, to mark the 50th anniversary of the Élysée Treaty, the Orchestre Français des Jeunes performed a series of concerts together with its German counterpart, the Bundesjugendorchester, under the direction of Dennis Russell Davies. [3]

It is a member of the European Federation of National Youth Orchestras. [4]

Orchestre Symphonique de Québec

The Orchestre symphonique de Québec is a Canadian symphony orchestra based in Quebec City. Founded in 1902 as the Société symphonique de Québec, the OSQ is the oldest active Canadian orchestra. Joseph Vézina was the OSQ's first music director, from 1902 to 1924. Bundesjugendorchester German national youth orchestra

The Bundesjugendorchester is one of the national youth orchestras of Germany. Unlike the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie, which consists of conservatory students up to the age of 28, the Bundesjugendorchester is composed of pre-university students aged 14–19. It is supported by the project company of the Deutscher Musikrat and is based in Bonn. It was established in 1969, making it one of the oldest national youth orchestras in the world.
