Orestis Menka (born 27 July 1992) is an Albanian professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Swedish Ettan-Norra club Vasalund. [1]
Menka moved to Levadeia, Greece, at the age of four and started his youth career at age 10, with the city's football-club Levadiakos, where he stayed five years before signing with PAOK together with a fellow Albanian compatriot Ergys Kaçe, where he stayed two years, then moved to Doxa Drama's youth team, was loaned for a year at Glyfada F.C. and then returned to Doxa Drama. On 6 January 2013, Menka gained entry with the first team of Doxa Drama as he called up for the match against Panachaiki, but he was an unused substitute. [3] He called up in total of 7 times, but all of them was an unused substitute. [4]
He made it his debut on 15 December 2013, by being included in the starting line-up in an away match against Anagennisi Giannitsa F.C. finished in the victory 1–2. [5] He played 2 consecutive games by keeping the clean sheet, on 12 January 2014 against Anagennisi Karditsas [6] and against Tyrnavos 05 on 19 January 2014, [7] with both games finishing in goalless draws. Menka played a half-time match on 29 March 2014 against Vataniakos, match finished in the victory 2–3 where he conceded 1 goal as the 2nd was conceded by his substitute Kostas Davkos. [8]
Since the summer of 2020, he has been playing for Panachaiki.
He played his first match for Albania national under-21 football team on 6 February 2013 against Macedonia U21, an friendly match finished in goalless draw 0-0.[ citation needed ] In the 2015 UEFA European Under-21 Football Championship he played two matches against Hungary U21 on 7 June 2013 [9] and Bosnia and Herzegovina U21 on 11 June 2013. The 2007–08 Gamma Ethniki was the 25th season since the official establishment of the third tier of Greek football in 1983. It started on September 23, 2007 and ended on June 8, 2008. Diagoras and Kavala were crowned champions in South and North Groups, respectively, thus winning promotion to Beta Ethniki. The third promotion ticket was gained by Anagennisi Karditsa, second-placed in North Group, after the win against Ilioupoli, second-placed in South, to the single play-off match which was held on June 14, 2008, at Georgios Kamaras Stadium.
The 2008–09 Gamma Ethniki was the 26th season since the official establishment of the third tier of Greek football in 1983. It started on September 14, 2008 and finished on May 3, 2009. 36 teams contest the league, divided into two groups of 18 clubs each, using certain geographical criteria. 23 of the participant clubs have contested in the 2007-08 season, 3 of them have been relegated from Beta Ethniki, while 10 of them have been promoted from Delta Ethniki. Last season's champions of North Group were Kavala, and Diagoras of South Group.
