Orion Basketball Club is a Rwandan semi-professional basketball team based in Kigali. They play in the Rwanda Basketball League (RBL). Orion was founded in 2022 and started playing in the Division 2 and was immediately promoted to the top flight league. [1]

Contents

The club was founded by James Mutabazi. Other investors include Jarred Harrington. [2] The name of the club means "the rising and shining". [3]

The 2024 BAL season, also known as BAL Season 4, will be the 4th season of the Basketball Africa League (BAL). The season will begin on 9 March 2024 and will finish with the final on 1 June 2024, which will be played in the BK Arena in Kigali, Rwanda, for a fourth consecutive season.

The 2023 RBL season was the second season of the Rwanda Basketball League under its current name, while the top-level competition has been organised by the FERWABA for a longer time. The season began on 12 January 2023 with the regular season. The playoffs will begin on 23 August and ended on 9 September 2023.

United Generation Basketball, also known as UGB, is a Rwandan semi-professional basketball team based in Kigali. The team plays in the Rwanda Basketball League (RBL), the top division in the country since 1998.

William Kiah Perry is an American professional basketball player for Patriots of the Rwanda Basketball League (RBL). Standing at 1.83 m, Perry plays as point guard. Alumnus of Lenoir–Rhyne University, he has played several years of professional basketball in Europe and Africa. Perry is the joint record holder for most points in a single BAL game and was the recipient of the BAL Sportsmanship Award in 2023.

Tigers Basketball Club is a Rwandan semi-professional basketball team based in Kigali. Founded in 2019, it entered the Rwanda Basketball League (RBL) in the same year.
