Orlanda Lynch (born 29 January 1947) is a Surinamese former discus thrower, shot putter, javelin thrower and sprinter. She is best known for winning bronze medals in both the discus and the shot put at the 1971 Central American and Caribbean Championships in Athletics in Kingston, Jamaica and for winning a bronze medal in the shot put in the 1975 Central American and Caribbean Championships in Athletics in Ponce, Puerto Rico.

Lynch also represented Suriname at the 1974 Central American and Caribbean Games in Santo Domingo and the 1978 Central American and Caribbean Games in Medellín, Colombia. In addition, she also represented Suriname at the 1975 Pan American Games in Mexico City, placing eighth in the shot put [1] [2] [3] and tenth in the discus.

Lynch is still the female Surinamese record holder in the discus, with a throw of 40.52 metres set on 7 March 1976 in Paramaribo.

The 2012 CARIFTA Games were held in the Bermuda National Stadium in Hamilton, Bermuda between April 6—9, 2012, the fourth time in which the event was held in Bermuda. Ronald Odair de Oliveira Julião is a Brazilian track and field athlete who competes in the shot put and discus throw. He is a member of BM&F Bovespa's track club and is trained by João Paulo Alves da Cunha. He is the Brazilian record holder in the discus throw (65.55 m). He is the second highest ranked South American discus thrower after Jorge Balliengo and has won straight titles at the Brazil championships since 2005.

Denia Caballero Ponce is a Cuban athlete who competes in the discus throw. She has a personal best of 70.65 metres for the event. She won the gold medal at the 2015 and the silver medal at the 2019 World Championships and was the bronze medalist at the 2016 Summer Olympics. Caballero also was the Central American and Caribbean champion in 2011 and the 2011 Pan American Games bronze medallist.

Virgil Soeroredjo is a former Surinamese badminton player and now coach. He competed for Suriname at the 2012 Summer Olympics. He also competed for Suriname at 3 Pan Am Games: the 2003 Pan American Games, the 2007 Pan American Games & the 2011 Pan American Games. As a young badminton player of the club SCVU in Suriname Virgil Soeroredjo won numerous juniors titles and was soon selected to represent his country abroad winning several juniors medals at Caribbean, Central American and South American events. Much of his success was with his doubles partner Mitchel Wongsodikromo.

Aixa Middleton González is a Panamanian track and field athlete who competes in the discus throw. Her personal best of 55.00 m is the Panamanian national record for the event. She has represented her country at the Central American and Caribbean Games, the South American Championships in Athletics, the Ibero-American Championships in Athletics and the 2015 Pan American Games.

Jesús Parejo is a Venezuelan former track and field athlete who competes in the shot put and discus throw. He holds personal bests of 17.56 m and 57.58 m for those events. His greatest achievements were a discus silver medal at the 2010 Central American and Caribbean Games and bronze medals at the 2011 South American Championships in Athletics and 2008 Central American and Caribbean Championships in Athletics.

Josephine de la Viña was a discus thrower from the Philippines who is considered as her country's greatest athlete in the event. She won gold medals in her pet event at the 1966 Asian Games and 1973 Asian Athletics Championships. She also competed at the 1964, 1968 and 1972 Olympics.

Amelia Wood was an American track and field athlete who competed in throwing events, specializing in the javelin throw. She was a Pan American Games champion and a 1956 Olympian.

Carol Lynne Martin is a former track-and-field athlete in discus, shot put and javelin. She represented Canada at the Commonwealth Games in 1966, 1970 and 1974, on each occasion winning the bronze medal for women's discus throw.
