Osage Creek is a stream in Newton, Boone, and Carroll counties of northern Arkansas. [1] It is a tributary of the Kings River.
The stream headwaters arise in northern Newton County at 36°05′47″N93°20′56″W / 36.09639°N 93.34889°W at an elevation of 2,250 ft (690 m). [1] [2] The stream flows east then turns north just west of Compton roughly paralleling Arkansas Highway 43 to enter the southwest corner of Boone County. [3]
The stream turns to the northwest and enters Carroll County. The stream flows northwest past the communities of Delmar and Osage where it crosses under Arkansas Highway 68. It then crosses Arkansas Highway 103 between Conner and Rule.
The stream crosses under Arkansas Highway 21 and Arkansas Highway 221 south of Berryville and enters the Kings River about five miles west of Berryville just south of US Route 62. [3]
The confluence with the Kings River is at 36°23′37″N93°38′16″W / 36.39361°N 93.63778°W at an elevation of 997 ft (304 m). [1]
Carroll County is a county located in the U.S. state of Arkansas. As of the 2020 census, the population was 28,260. The county has two county seats, Berryville and Eureka Springs. Carroll County is Arkansas's 26th county, formed on November 1, 1833, and named after Charles Carroll, the last surviving signer of the United States Declaration of Independence.
The Boston Mountains is a Level III ecoregion designated by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in the U.S. states of Arkansas and Oklahoma. Part of the Ozarks, the Boston Mountains are a deeply dissected plateau. The ecoregion is steeper than the adjacent Springfield Plateau to the north, and bordered on the south by the Arkansas Valley. The Oklahoma portion of the range is locally referred to as the Cookson Hills. There are several theories of how the mountains were named, though apparently none are related to the Massachusetts city.
Powell Mountain is a mountain ridge of the Ridge-and-valley Appalachians of the Appalachian Mountains. It is a long and narrow ridge, running northeast to southwest, from about Norton, Virginia, to near Tazewell, Tennessee. It separates the Clinch River basin and the Powell River basin of Powell Valley. It was named for an 18th-century explorer.
Carrollton is an unincorporated community in Carroll County, Arkansas, United States. Once designated the county seat, it had a population near the 10,000 mark in the 1850s. It has now 30 residents and a historically significant past.
Cabanal is a community in Carroll County in northwest Arkansas, United States. The community is located on Arkansas Highway 21, south of Berryville and north of Metalton. The site is along a north flowing tributary to Osage Creek below and west of Gage Mountain at an elevation of 1,306 ft (398 m).
The Kings River is a tributary of the White River. It rises in the Boston Mountains of Arkansas and flows northward for more than 90 miles into Table Rock Lake in Missouri. The Arkansas portion of the river is undammed and bordered by rural and forested land, the river is popular for paddling and sport fishing.
Gobbler is an unincorporated community in southern Carroll County, Arkansas, United States. The community is located at the intersection of U.S. Route 412 and Arkansas Highway 103, approximately ten miles south of Green Forest. The location is on a ridge between the headwaters of Piney Creek to the northwest and a small tributary to Osage Creek to the southeast at an elevation of 1,657 ft (505 m).

The stream covers a linear distance of 86 mi (138 km) between the border and its confluence.

The location is at the headwaters of four streams: Kings River to the northeast, War Eagle Creek to the northwest, the White River to the east and southwest and Little Mulberry Creek to the southeast.
