Osasu Igbinedion Ogwuche (born August 25, 1992) is a Nigerian British media entrepreneur, philanthropist, and business executive. [1] She is the chief executive officer of TOS TV Network (a pan-African storytelling platform) and co-founder of NatSu Global, a real estate and media investment firm. [2] She is the former host of The Osasu Show, a syndicated TV show focused on development, business, and politics in Nigeria and the United Kingdom. [3]

Early and personal life

Osasu was born in the United Kingdom to the Igbinedion family. She is the daughter of Eki Igbinedion and Lucky Igbinedion, [4] the former governor of Edo State, while her grandfather, Gabriel Igbinedion is the Esama of the Benin Kingdom in Nigeria.

She obtained her bachelor's degree from Stonehill College in Easton, Massachusetts, and thereafter a master's degree from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts. She later received a certificate in TV and film production from the New York Film Academy.[ citation needed ]

Osasu is married to Nathaniel Joshua Ogwuche, [5] with whom she shares one son.

Career

Osasu holds bachelor's and master's degrees in Communications from Stonehill College and Northeastern University, both in Massachusetts, United States. She also has a certificate in TV and film production from the New York Film Academy.

In 2015, she was one of the few journalists across Africa trained by the United Nations to be one of its media ambassadors for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). By 2016, her show, The Osasu Show, was airing across major TV stations in Nigeria and the U.K.

Practicing as a journalist, she has told stories from the streets of Agatu to the rivers of Ogoni.

Osasu won the DAAR Awards for the Young Achiever of the Year 2018 and the Social Media for Social Good Awards Africa 2019.

She was appointed in 2019 by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as a media ambassador for free and fair elections in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

She is the co-founder of NatSu Global, a real estate and media investment with offices in Abuja,London, Johannesburg and Boston.

For seven years (2015–2022) she was the host of the TV show The Osasu Show, [6] which aired on African Independent Television, BEN TV London, and ITV which were popular TV stations in Nigeria and the United Kingdom and The Weekend Show on AIT. [7] She is also the founder of The Osasu Show Foundation. [3]

She is the convener of Osasu Show Symposium, [8] a forum where major stakeholders in the political field gathered together with their constituents to discuss issues of nation building and development especially as they relate to the welfare of the less privileged. [9]

Chief Raymond Anthony Aleogho Dokpesi was a Nigerian media businessman and politician. His parents were from Agenebode, Edo state in a family including six sisters. He entered the Nigerian mass media industry with his company, the DAAR Communications and set up the Nigerian TV network Africa Independent Television (AIT). He was the organising committee chairman of the People's Democratic Party national conference in 2015. As of March 2020, he was undergoing a trial on corruption charges. In May 2020, Dokpesi survived a COVID-19 infection. He suffered a stroke shortly after the 2023 Ramadan and died from a fall on his treadmill on 29 May 2023.

Prince Chinedu Munir Nwoko popularly known as Ned Nwoko is a Nigerian lawyer, philanthropist and politician who serves as the senator representing Delta North senatorial district in the Nigerian Senate. He was a member of the House of Representatives between 1999 and 2003 representing Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency, Delta State.
